Hi,

I have a Seat Ibiza 1.6tdi st on a 63 plate. The air con has just stopped working.
Where can I locate Fuse for air con. Done a google search but cant seem to find it?

Are there any common faults relating to air con on these cars?

cheers in advance of any replies

Fuse, well maybe so, or not, but my money would be on the fridge system being low on R134A charge due to either normal losses across pipes and seals if it has not be recharged during its lifetime, or charge loss via a leaking condenser due to being holed by stones etc. One final possibility, cooling fan system failure.

Edit:- I'd be guessing, but probably even a high/low pressure switch failure and I think that all VW Group suffer from being fitted with suspect A/C High/Low pressure switches!!

Another Edit:- if possible get someone who has VCDS to scan that car for logged faults, that should be your first move as that would cut out a lot of guessing.

Im betting on the pressure switch, i have had two replacements in the wifes car, the first was two days out of the showroom from new.

Local aircon guy replaced a switch located on the inner wing on the drivers side of my 6j he said it's a common fault on VAG Cars and buys job lots lol

This is the pressure switch mentioned above
