SEAT Ibiza Sport 1.9TDi 130 Remapping + Exhaust

Brakes are easy to do yourself, really isnt worth paying anyone for it IMO. All you need is the right size allan keys and a G-clamp (much better than any caliper piston compressor IMO)

Fitting a full zorst shouldn't take more than a couple of hourse. Most the time is probably getting the old one off, if you could do that yourself I doubt many places can claim to have taken more than an hour.

Do some more searching on mufflerectomy as I reached exactly the opposite result to you, more turbo and more growl, dirt cheap, lasts ages gives good performance, stays hidden an is generally a good idea.

Thanks for the reply, I got a feeling I might attempt the brakes myself, hopefully with a little help from a mechanic friend if I’m sure I can find one! I think I may be able to do the exhaust myself but I am not sure about the bumper at the back because it doesn’t have the curve cut out or anything. I would quite like something official and professionally fitted (or at least someone who knows what they are doing!)

You say it stays well hidden, you mean there is no rear box that has any tailpipe showing out the back, I was quite looking forward to having 2 little jet pipes coming out the rear!

I have also read on the 'REVO' about Stage 2 and 3 having security? Although not available in stage 1, and you can get an SPS to turn it on and off? What’s this all about, do you pay extra when you remap it for this SPS thing?

the part no's thread,

part numbers in there for the rear valance for the FR ibiza,
has the exhaust cutout ;)
 
Ok I found the number for the rear valence; I’ll get that at some stage (6L6807521BB41) it was! Now I asked a mechanic who is a member of the sports club I work at and he said to fit the brakes for me he would do it for £60 cash, so the £250 to buy the parts from golf_turbo. Do you think that’s a good deal?

Also I asked him if i got the Milltek exhaust system would he fit that for me he said yes, dependent on how long it takes he said a ball park figure of £50-60 again to fit it for me. If I get the Cat-Back non-resonated Twin Jet system and get the rear valance from SEAT and get him to do it for £60 do you think that's good? I thought also the 'cat-back' system, is that illegal or is the cat still on the car?

He also said he has a friend who is going to get his car mapped and he would ring me when his friend gets back from holiday, you think maybe if we both get ours done together they will discount, he would do it at wheelbase in Hersham/Surrey and they do REVO mapping :)

Does this sound like progress or do you think I'm getting ripped off here?

Looks like its going to be lots of money either way!

Brakes Parts + Fitted total = £300
Exhaust Fitting plus parts £350
Remap = £500 (hopefully less!!)

£1150! Total, oh lovely...going to have to wait abit!
 
Get the brakes first, wait a month, then remap, wait a month and get used to the brakes/remap, exhaust isn't that important and can wait til you have the money!

Do you think ill be able to get discount on this REVO remap if its a 'friend of a friend' getting his done too? Sound a unlikely or not?

Its only a few buttons on a computer really isnt it.... couldnt slip it to me for not much?!
 
Give you local dealer a call, i'm sure they can sort sonething out!

I live in East Molesey, Surrey. Molesey is litteraly right next to Hampton Court if that helps!

I'm liking the fact that £60 is cheap fitting for the brakes, what do you reckon it would have been somewhere else?

I've just spoken to my local REVO dealer and he said its £499, BUM! Although thats where it would be done as 'friend of a friend' but he doesn't know that (i hope!). Surely he could just take the equipment to us and do it in like 20mins, surely you can get 'someone' to do it for you on the 'side' ? lol

Seems a little too quick for me... Whats the cheapest remap you have seen done?

I paid £80 I think, was long time ago... lol :)

I paid £300 for my map, look elsewhere if REVO are too much, Performance Torque and Custom Code are good!

Was thinking of dealers near you...

Differences between them arent really that much are they? Just different company names and a few different setting in the map really?

I need to get a hold of this Cupra Intake hose too, ill go have a look about fitting that! Then ordering one :S apparently they cost like £60 now :O ?

I'm really pissed at this mapping thing as really you could give some bloke who has a laptop £50 and he would just wack it on for you! GRR!!
 
Tecnically, except they buy the maps from germany etc and load up boost settings etc etc

I'd go Custom Code if I wanted a map, £400 ish I think.

Pay £60 for the brakes, this way you know it's done right and by someone who knows what they are doing!

Cupra intake and tube are £30 or so, might have gone up!
 
Yeh, but the dealer surely buys the map from REVO or whatever only once and then puts it on as many customers cars as they like; or the dealer has to pay REVO a percentage each time the map is installed on a new car...However will REVO know how many times its been used.....??

Going to go have a look under bonnet and call SEAT Parts to see how much it will be, do I need to get like a new Green/K&N Panel Filter too?
 
I would get a custom map, miltek exhaust (due to higher temperatures will be worth it to get a new one), upgraded air intake (maybe a cold air if you want a nicer noise) and new brakes - black diamond ones are good!
 
PS. Which cupra does it come from, im gona ring the scrappy and see if they have any that have been totaled!

I can only find PiperCross do a cold air induction kit (viper kit) and none others...

Green and K&N just do the panel filters... Suggestions? lol
