Just removed the transponder from it and the glass shattered, would this mean it would no longer work? Just worried about doing the same to my current key.
I have a non-remote key too, i guess this would also have a transponder inside too.

I used the non-remote key for the transponder for my flip key.
Found it easier to remove the transponder too.

yer probably best using the non remote key to try, i found the transponder came out of the seat one easier as it was more accessible. once you remove it and place it into the other key should work great. but before you do taht try and see if the remote works otherwise its a waste of time.
if you want to know if your remote will work with the car put one key in the ignition and turn on but dont start, open the drivers window and put the spare in the door.
now lock it with the key
then hold unlock on the remote and unlock then lock the car.
youll know its worked when the horn toots. just remember to turn the ignition off before you try to lock/unlock it as i didnt think and thought the thing wasnt working.

Rang up the local SEAT dealer today and they said they can re-program the key for £30! does this mean I will have a fully working key then?? or does it mean that it will just open the doors via remote?? just need to get it cut now!

reprogram would be the remote which you can program yourself for nought, only say this because you cant reprogram a transponder once its done thats it you cant redo it for another car.
yes if the transponder has already been programmed for another car thats it cant be re done, but the remote can be reset and reprogrammed to open/close doors more than once. Id try and get one off ebay and get someone with vagcom who knows how or take it to the dealers to get the transponder coded.
on the key you have if its the remote type it will have your frequency on the side id stick with the same one if its 433 get a 433 key as there isnt alot of information about Leons and if they can accept both.

Freq. isn't really an issue. My original key was a 433, but my flip is 434.
You need to check the part number on the flip key your are buying.
I'll see if I can find my old post on the subject, as I'm almost sure I listed the p/n that worke for me...from memory it's all in the last letter of the p/n.
weird the way i program my key is differnt its written in the manual and i tried an AG key off a golf and another from a TT not sure what code, neither would work. i seem to be only able to use 433 maybe early models cant use 434.

thats the one i have and thats 433mhz from a skoda, what year is your car?
My old key is from a Skoda, said 434, my current one is 433 still programmed it fine.
Phoned Timpsons about getting the key cut, one said they are not aloud but i think he was talking rubbish, another said they can't do the transponder although i don't need that done anyway as i took/cut it out of my old key. They do seem a bit reluctant to do it, must be a bit tricky.

AG is a pretty common seen them used on loads of cars. im guessing seat didnt do the flip key for the leon seeing as so many are getting them of ebay etc...
My LCR is an 02 plate, what info do I need to see if it will work? part No, see if its been coded to another car....
I rang up another dealer today and asked them about coding it to my car, they said its catch 22. we did a lads ibiza a few week back, and he bought the key off ebay (flip one) and they programed it to open the door but come to start the car it wouldn't do it, they tryed and tryed but it just wouldn't work! key cost the lad £30 + coding it £25 + Cutting it £10 = £65 down! and he could have bought a brand new one for £100.....
