Can anyone shed some light on the work involved on each service interval for the TDI's? PD and NON PD if they differ?

I've only had a 10k service so far but fast approaching the 20k mark.

10k consisted of:
Oil Change
Oil Filter change
Check brakes and tyres for wear
Top up of fluids
(think that was it)

think its the same for the 20k service, plus a few other things (i think) like brake fluid, i'll check my service book and edit accordingly!

Edit: According to the Service book, the 10k (mine was done in Dec) consists of;

Oil and filter change
Visual checks on exhaust, coolant, brakes, g'box, battery, tyres, drive shaft ball joints, lights, wipers & airbags

Its the same for 20k, plus

Drain water from fuel filter (?)
Haldex clutch: replace oil
check gearbox oil and top up
replace pollen filter
check/correct headlight adjustment
check underbody protection

think thats it

I think brake fluid is changed at 2 years, rather than at a set mileage.
However for average mileage users this will be near enough to the 20k mark for the two to coincide.

And none of us have Haldex clutches either.

So in terms of parts the only extra is the pollen filter, the rest is labour for additional inspections.
And how do you know the inspections have definitely been carried out ? You don't. Though I'm sure there are some reputable dealers who do what they say :)
