Servicing charge I've just realised...

Not that I'm advocating this, but according to the end of lease charge document, a missed service on a lease agreement is a £50 charge.

Seems mightily cheap!

Cheaper than servicing it, unless that's on top of them charging you for them to get it serviced

No, it clearly states missing service history, so theoretically you could get out of paying for any service over the period for £50!

Are you sure it means that the car has not been serviced? Or, that there is no service history, stamped book, receipts etc?

Yeah I think that sounds more like it. Surely they want the service to be up to date, else it will have a massive impact on resale value?

It could be £50 to replace any documentation...

When I was returning Audi, I just printed service history I got in PDF from Audi. Just dates and location of service, no details.

They increased cost of alloy wheel damage. It used to be £35, now £60, but still cheaper than fixing it.

Technically is it not £100 plus £50 for every other missed service?

"Missing service history record is £50
Charge for incomplete service history is £50 per service missed"

So for the first missed service its £100, then if you have 2 it would be £150?

i've never leased... but i had assumed that the servicing was included in the price!?

Only if you pay for maintainince (extra per month), but then excess miles will go up. Maintenance is only worth it, if it's cheap and you don't expect to exceed your miles.

Spoke to Seat FS this morning, purely out of intrigue more than anything.

They really didn't have a clue, they thought the two different options linked to Maintained vs non maintained. One thing he did say was if BCA get the car and it has a service light on, they wouldn't drive it away and they'd have to arrange a collection at an increased cost. But I guess how hard is it to reset the service light manually anyway.

An interesting one, also as others have mentioned, would this void your warranty?

Sam for me with Mercedes. they could probably check quite easily if it was online?

Lack of servicing will definitely be a problem with warranty or any good will gesture. Suprisingly, there are people who don't service their cars for years (not leased).

I thought so.

Any personal or PCP car I've had has always been serviced, mainly at main dealers.

I just thought it was interesting how cheap it was!
