Hi, i'm sure it has been asked before, but not sure if it has been asked about on the MK5 Ibiza with it being relatively new.

Just read the bumph on the Shell V-Power and how it gets you more miles per gallon, how it cleans your engine etc etc...... not entirely sure i believe it all ??

Has anyone out there had any experience with Shell V-Power (99 octane) in the MK5 Ibiza ?, any more mpg, power etc ?

Is 99 octane okay to use in the MK5 Ibiza, as the petrol cap only says "95 octane" (or 97, not sure) ?

Cheers,
Andy

I dont think you will see much difference to be honest. Higher octane petrol is used in high performance cars and especially those with blowers to stop knocking.

Nope it would definitly be more benefit but the difference will probably be small.

Cheers all, i've just filled up with a full tank of the Shell V-Power 99RON, i'll give it a run through the week and see if i notice any difference. It's 7p a litre more than regular (which is around £2.80 a week more for me, as i use about 40 litres a week).

If i do notice better mpg, or more acceleration then i'll be using it as it's only a tenner a month more (in my case). I had a £2.50 token off V-Power so it hasn't cost me any more than regular fuel this week!

Regards,
Andy
