I wouldnt bother with 10-20k oil services which is what long life is for. Its far better to do a oil service at half year/5-6k intervals and stick with 5w30 fully synthetic that meets the vw rating. I opted for 5w30 mobile 1 esp as its cheaper than castrol where i get trade and is supposedly better.

I use Millers XF longlife for my LCR and do 6,000 miles services, but my car gets a bit of a hard time so I don't mind loking after the engine/turbo with good oil and I've done 91,000 miles with no engine bother;)
