Are they? I got pulled the other friday night and the one of the officers ran his finger over the top of the plate and through the slash in the zero (german font) and didnt say a thing.

What about reflective pressed English font plates? Think they would still be looking to pull you for that?

Yep they would. Even though its english font,they are illegal because they are pressed. Anything other than a normal, plastic, flat number plate with UK spacing is illegal. Although i haven't had any problems yet (touch wood) with my plates with a german font.

You might be alright if you put them on. Ive had my pressed plates on since last october and haven't had a problem. Thats with German font, UK spacing and GB banding down the side.

They will be staying on until I get pulled and told to remove them.

1.4 pre facelift!

just thought id post a few pics of what ive done to my prefacelift ibiza and whats to come lol

how it was when i bought it looking pretty standard with clio alloys for some reason

luckily i bought it with a mint set of mk3 cupra r wheels (with bold tyres though) so this was after a quick mock fit!

After a trip down to my Dads mates scrapyard came back with most of a 1.4s interior and some 15inch 5 spokes as a winter/spare set plus loads of spares for £40

hows shes looking now after a good clean plus all the interior, sub amp and speaker setup and the laguna splitter!

Next on the agenda is finishing off the styling etc...body and paint work, fitting mk3 cupra r alloys and 20mm spacers (after saving for tyres) 8v gti spoiler, fogs and maybe side skirts and tints!

Finally im transplanting the engine and brakes setup for either 2.0 or 1.8 16v and of course new suspension etc which ive already sourced a 1.8 16v from my Dads mates scrapyard complete with loom, brakes and uprated suspension but is sitting on top of a pile of cars at the moment so im looking out for other donor cars lol

you need to put the mk3 cupra wheels on it if youve swapped them for the skinny 5 spokes... the cupra wheels look ace

Thanks for the comments everyone! As for your questions...im leaving the bumpers standard as i want it to be a sleeper when i transplant the engine etc! At the moment the beezas got some Renault Clio rims on which is what came on the car but the mk3 wheels are defo going on as soon as i can afford some good tyres...the skinny 5 spokes are just a spare/winter set as i got them for next to nothing!

I've been running pressed UK plates for 14 months now and never been pulled for them
