Skorchio, that looks pretty good! Nice work! I've been thinking of making one similar to James tdi and icecaverns - to sit on the l/h/s of the boot as you look at it. Havent yet because I want to think of someway to secure it but make sure I could still access the spare if needed.

The one I built bolts to the side of the car. No problems getting to the spare, the boot carpet is still flexible enough to move out of the way.

Thanks Guys, :D

Yeh accessing the space was a big part of my plan, i wanted it to look nice but still be practical.

Send Ice and James a PM im sure they will be happy to help.

Nah i like to eat people who ask me for help.
But since im full.

I bought the sub amp and box off here for about £80, the box is an auto acoustics stealth box, and there is a small piece of carpeted mdf on the side of it to fill up the space.

I have secured it in with alot of industrial velcro, now i drive like a loony as you may have seen on the M4 and it hasnt come unstuck yet :)

but if you give it a good yank then it will come out for access to spare wheel :)

Ice, James, cheers the comments!

Ice, is yours made from mdf?

James does yours protrude into that gap in the boot then? (behind the rear lights cluster)

And in an accident the sub box will be lunching on the back of your head... Bolt 'em down people...

tbh not fussed :) im quite care free about stuff like that if im gonna die im gonna die :) id have to be pretty unlucky for a sub box to rip the velcro pop up over the rear seats and smack me square in the back of the head.

Im not saying it cant or wont happen but still ....

basicly open your boot.

Look on the left where the parcel shelf sits.

Now imagine a flat wall going from that straight down. This is how my install sits :) going to be tidied up soonish just got to get my uni exams over then its all go for working on the car :)

Velcro holds nothing in an impact, it'll go straight through the seats not over them, and I assume you never carry passengers?
