have just got my new side repeaters delivered from Germany,

need to know how best to get the old ones off without damaging them or the surrounding paint work in any way.

Anyone done this recently and is there a certain way of getting them out best???

cheers, Simon

Just get a flat head screwdriver and a cloth or something and carfully put the cloth over the screwdriver under the edge of the lens and they pop out. I did this to get some black ones!

on my new ones, one side looks like it has a clip and the other just sits flush, any idea which side to go for first (left/right??)

i guess its just a case of taking my time and just being careful not to scratch the paintwork. Cheers

if memory serves, on mine leastways, the clip as you call it was 'doorside' as the indicator sits in the wing.

lever gently, then wiggle the main unit out once clip is free of bodywork.

Push it from the left hand side to overcome the resistance of the elastic clip on the other side then remove it.

yes to paint the brake calipers I did at the same time as the repeators!:p
mine were from a passat but the bulb holder on the ibiza didn't fit had to re wire one side and bodge the other as there was not enough wire to work with

ahh , yes.. I remember your long and exxagerated thread about it all now
:p

they look pretty good, actually ;)
