I have a jetex cone filer on my leon at the moment but it is connected directly to the maf. I would like to move it closer to the wing and add a heatshield and was wondering what size silicone hose i would need to connect between the maf and filer to bring it out a bit?

Cheers

Paul

Do jetex not do adapter kits? You need to take it off and measure it. The outside diameter of your maf and the neck of the filter will be the inner diameter of the silicone hose and you'll need to make the hose only slightly bigger in size as silicone hose isn't that flexible.

read your thread again. Length to bring it out, 5" or so. Again you'd have to size it up. There is a supplier on ebay of all things silicone hose related. 45/ 60 degree elbows and all that stuff.

On the heat shield side I got some stuff that they use in generator canopies to reflect exhaust heat to stop the paint from blistering, it's good. I'll try and find out where you can get it for the public.

I couldn't find any suppliers for the stuff I've got but type "heat reflective foil" into ebay and the radiator foil looks like it'd be just as effective and a reasonable price.

I've never worked with the stuff so don't know how you would work with it to get it to stay in place against a cage or whatever you are going to fabricate. If anyone has a tried and tested material type and how to work with it then give this thread a bell.:)
