Check the condition of your pollen filter, as if it's not been changed in a while it's probably in a very unhealthy state! Cheap to replace though

its a filter under the wiper panel that stops dust and pollen getting into the car
it will be the aircon. usually i get it when i have been using the aircon and then switch it off.
i just leave it on all the time now. not noticed any loss of MPG either. Best of all - car does not smell of stale pi$$, not tried switching it off lately though

replaced the pollen filter, £10.00 from halfords!
seems to have stoped the smell!

Fingers crossed you have re-seated the Pollen Filter Housing Seal correctly and you will not have a water leak in the passenger footwell next downpoor
lol or another way to put it, nearside below the windscreen under the wiper panel.

I WOULD GO FOR THE AIR CON CLEANER AS WELL...COMMA OR ANY AIR CON CLEANER.. £10 OR LESS...EASY TO USE..I DID IT TO MINE THE OTHER MONTH CAUSE OF THE PEE SMELL FROM THE VENTS..ALREADY HAD THE FILTER CHANGED DUE TO AUTO WINDSCREENS SCREWING IT UP WHEN THEY DID THE WINDOW..COWBOYS...
STILL HAD THE SMELL AFTER THE FILTER WAS FITTED SO THATS WHY I DID THE AIR CON CLEANER...SMELLS OF ORANGES NOW...MMMMM..
THE SMELL IS AS SAID BEFORE "BACTERIA" IN YOUR PIPES THE GROW WHEN THE AIR CON ISN'T USED FOR A BIT.

Just went to my local halfords and they said they couldn't get hold of a pollen filter for my 04 leon ;[ Please don't tell me that i have to go to the stealers
My mum must have been in your car a few minutes before. Shes a dirty skank and she probably pished on your seat. (I can say this about my mum........she maxed up my credit card when I was ''inside'' and crashed my Lexus Is 200 sport, it was written off and the insurance wouldnt cover it as I didnt know she was driving and she wasnt insured. She then told my whole family I was gay before hitting me over the head with a pint glass)

although the change of panel filter has appeared to solve this, i would still say the air con is the most likely.
If you get this, (usually when you havnt used the air con for some time) the smell will be potent initially but goes was a bit of use. Therefore at £5 the tesco aircon cleaner may be a good idea anyway.

once a week
i run my air con for 5 mins once a week , apparnently stops it going flat and no need for a recharge. seems to work so far ive had the car 2 yrs and no problems.
