My car seems to be smelling really rich. Rich enough to be smelt from inside the car. The fuel filter has been changed and so has the pollen filter but neither has changed anything (only as i read somewhere on here to change them)

Has anyone got any ideas. To help, it did once have the revo expiration map on there beginning of the year if that will change anything.

MPG doesnt seem to be that great either

With yours, i 1st check the fuel rack, then injectors, then fpr mainfold pressure. If still no then the fuel pipes on the left hand side of the bay and look under the car where fuel pipes exit the engine bay

I had this for a while, very strong when coming to a halt at traffic lights etc.

Finally traced it to a little pipe that takes unburnt fumes to a charcoal box. The box is black think its front of the screen wash reservoir on the left of the engine bay. The black pipe which feeds it runs along the top of the engine and is clipped to a plastic clip on the wing. Where it clips over time it can cause a tiny hole in the pipe and the fumes leak out.

I gave it a temprorary fix with some blu - tac and solved it staright away. Its worth a check if you're getting fumes in the car.

Not sure what that part is but the pipe which comes out of there and heads towards the drivers side wing is the one I'm talking about. (the one closest to the front of the car on your picture)

It is held onto the wing by a plastic clip half way along before it goes into the next black box infront of the washer jet and just to the left of the power steering fluid.

I took mine out of the clip and the smell became much stronger, checked it closely and found a very small hole. Obviously over time vibrations cause the clip to rub the plastic hose making a small hole

This shouldn't cause any noticeable drop in fuel consumption whilst it leaks as it burns off excess vapour only.

Haven't put many threads on here before so if you need any more info and if I can work out how to do it I can put some pictures on of exactly what I mean.

Hope that sorts out your problem!
