ah right im with you, i used direct line, best deal i could get

thats with 1 year NCB

did u declare that you had 'modified' your car with none standard wheels and tinted glass? this includes any factory options and aftermarket products(bodykit, spoiler, exhaust) that alter the look or performance of your car. directline won't allow anyone to modify their car until they are 25, any such policies will be void and they wont pay out. its in their terms+conditions.

the modifications only count aftermarket additions, i did state however that i had 17" black alloy wheels tinted windows leather interior etc....

im not as daft as i look =]

the only reason i said it is because thats what directline told me when i went for a quote. i told them i had 17" wheel factory upgrade + they told me they cant insure me because im not 25, the quote was about 800 i think. also i thought insurance would be cheaper when u reach 21, its 25 with directlin

i told them on the phone and they were fine with it, ill probably swap when i turn 21, a few cheaper companys then

unless im mistaken, I always thought a "modified" car meant a car which had been altered after it had left the factory.. either that or my parents are on the modification scene haha

I must be special :D

in all seriousness I just put in my details and punched the search button that was it, am I allowed to say who gave me the best quote?

thats a really good price if its right. especially with it being your 1st policy and given your age. im finding it quite hard to believe to be honest. a friend of mine who is 21 with 2years ncb is struggling to find anything below 1500,and thats for a bog standard policy with ridiculous excess

to be brutally honest I'm not really bothered whether you beleive me or not, but as a matter of interest why are you so bothered anyway?

it was more of a 'congratulations on finding a good deal, care to share info?' kind of message. and a 'wow ive not seen a quote that cheap' maybe i worded it badly or your just rude

i know what a modified car is. im jus highlighting that directline have a different outlook on it and its in their terms+conds. its not my opinion. just saying what they have told me.

Didn't mean to sound rude but I felt your comment was ridiculous seeing as you are comparing me to your friend who for all you know could be in a completely different situation to mine. You picked me up incorrectly about the "1st policy" part, this indeed was my 1st private policy,NOT the first time I had been a named driver i.e company fleet policy

Remember when insurance quotes are made up they dont just take age (1) and ncb (2) and make 3, there are many different factors involved.

I was only making a comment regarding the price I paid for insurance, I don't have any special "info" on how I got the quote that I did, It wasn't my intention to give detailed advice on how to get a good deal on insurance.

I don't think you have worded it wrong- I think I've picked you up correctly but thanks for the congratulations.

Thats a bloody brilliant price, i'm paying just under that on a 1.6crtdi sport at 24 with 0ncb AND my gf on as a named driver.

thanks man, I just tried again to check my quote wasn't a one off

I just got quoted 778.25 and 780.35 from admiral and elephant.co.uk respectively, the next quote was 3529.03 from quotea...

almost mad that i've done this but here is a screen dump of what I could see- I know it says cupra and not bocanegra but I'm not willing to post the personal e-mail I recieved from my insurance provider confirming that it is specifically the bocanegra variant of the cupra which is covered in my policy...the 700 differnce shouldnt make a massive difference anyway and its purely cosmetic

that price sounds about right to me..I have to pay £702 on my FR at 21 with 1 years NCB. got a quote on a boc for £814, admiral are definately the best

Agreed admiral seem to be coming out on top.....I just got a quote for a cupra for me & the wife & they came out at £233 with only a £60excess. Thats a huge saving over my golf gti.
