Solid engine mounts??

Has any one put solid engine mounts on a 130 tdi sport? My mounts have gone as engine rocks around it the bay like no tomorrow, so I think that they will need replacing, I know that there are some upsides to doing it but there must be some bad as well?

Pros

Engine is solid and puts power down better
More responsive gear changes (as the gearbox doesn't move moving cables etc...)
Better handling as the engine doesn't move

Negative

Increased vibration and general noise at idle.

Does any out there have a good picture of the gearbox an engine mount and sizes so that I can get in the work shop and make up a couple? I don’t really want to get mine out or buy some to copy.

Solid mounts are horrible on the most part, Stiffer rubber ones or PU are best for road use.

Vibra Technics make some of the best mounts going IMO.
