I recently went on a course with work and got into a discussion with the technical trainer on Diesel tuning as he noticed when i turned up in my Cupra TDI. I had also noticed as I arrived there was a 2.0l Golf TDI parked in the car park which turned out to be his.

Anyway getting to the point, part of his tuning had been to have a Magnex exhaust fitted, which he was well impressed with, mainly the noise it made on gear change. He described it as sounding like an "Owl" I didn't believe him and we went for a spin, and although he said it had made a massive difference to the way the car drove and picked up, i couldn't get over this hugely comical noise.

Has anyone had a Magnex fitted to their Cupra or FR TDI?? If so what does it sound like?

Had a great price i think from my local supplier, which funnily enough is the same place i get my tyres from.

£275 fully fitted any good?

Sounds a good price. I had one on my Corrado V6 and it sounded ace!! Quiet on normal driving, but when booted............. Oh how I miss that sound :-(

Ok so not a diesel, but i had a magnex catback fitted to a Pug 306xsi in 1998, it sounded subdued "rorty" rather than loud, which was good and it's still on the car 9 years later with no problems, that cost £285 fitted so your price sounds very good..

I've had one on my last car, again not a diesel but a 1.8 Focus which i was well impressed with and loved to pieces. The only thing i'm worried about is after hearing one on a Vag diesel car it sounds comical and something i'm really not looking for, thanks for your responses tho guys
