hi, i have an 54 frtdi with the standard aura cd player and 6 disc changer, was wondering if anyoe knows of a way to play ur ipod without one of the fm transmitters?

cheers scott!

thanks for that mate, saves me getting a whole new head unit and it does everything a good head unit does!

get a 'headphone jack to Tape' thing for about £5, plug it in to your IPod headphone socket and into the tape player! JD

not the most stylish but definatly the most convenient/cheapest:D

Someone did that, but had the wire coming out of the back of the head unit, so it wasn't visible.

Also is a pile of :censored: aweful quality... Get the proper lead, or a proper iPod compatable H/U.... won't regret it..

Not that bad dude, it depends on how good quality your mp3s are.

All works fine providing you take all eq off your IPod, crank bass on headunit up to about 4, fade to rear speakers a bit, works perfect

Also £64 for Ipod official connection or £5 for cassette!? Obviously if you have the free cash ignore me!:p

just to jump in on this thread so as not to make a new one.
2.0 leon TDi sport says it comes with AUX-in. Does this mean i can plug my ipod in somewhere with an aux lead, if so where do i plug it in? the back of the head unit?

I'm going to stand by the casettes being ****.... as the one i had was laaame, and it wasnt cheap either! Was having to constantly eject and reinsert it to get the damn thing to be either;

- Not all to the left
- Not all to the right
- Really quiet
- Too much treble

the list goes on.... just save the hassle and get a proper connection

My cassette adaptor doesnt work, the tape player just refuses to play on mine, so if you want to buy the tape > ipod adaptor off me let me know.

Also, you can get those transmitters that you plug your ipod into and then tune your radio to a certain frequency, might be worth a look in
