Space Saver over Upgraded Brakes?

A mate of mine with upgraded brakes (brembos) had a blowout the other day, when he came to fit the space saver (admittedly not a SEAT, but a VAG motor) it wouldn't fit over the calipers and he was stranded.

You lot with bigger brakes might have thought about it already, but just in case you haven't, it's worth checking.

If it doesn't fit, you could either get a spacer, or risk it and save weight by leaving it at home...

was going to suggest exactly the same as Saul !! ;)

if you have a puncture on the front with big brakes, remove both front and rear tyres from the same side, fit rear to the front and then fit space saver to the rear ;)

do civic typers not have to do this from the factory?

I have the problem with my LCR that the spare is AWOL - so I currently have a spare original 15" rim from by brother's A3, and figured I can always slot this on the back if need be and do some switching around...
As said above though, the 182 comes only with a couple of cans of foam as the exhaust runs where the spare should live...
