Driving along earlier at 70 on a dual carriageway my steering starts pulling to the left and seconds later my front passenger tyre popped :(
Managed to get half on the grass and half on the tiniest hard shoulder ive ever seen and got the AA out as my spare in the boot wouldnt have fit over my 312mm brakes at the front, ( i didnt try it either as didnt fancy being on the dual carriageway in the rain underneath a dodgy jack )
So got towed to nearest tyre place and had to get the only tyres they had which were 2 x hankooks @ £100 each ( the other front tyre was at 1.8mm )
I was lucky it wasnt at night as id have been screwed!
Anyway my question is where do a get a bigger spare, would one from a leon fit?

My oz titans look crap imo, if i bought one more it would mean i would have to keep them longer lol. I just was thinking i could pick up a spare from a scrappie if i knew what models would fit straight on mine in 17'

In this instance, swap the spare for a rear, and the rear onto the front, and the popped one into the boot!

this is true, i could have done that, didnt even cross my mind

But i think i would prefer to have a spare thats roughly the same size as my alloys now to save messing about on the side of the road for too long lol

LOL Yepp, most people do the same. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

lol, still didnt fancy changing a wheel half on the grass and half on the dual carriageway with cars whizzing past at 70+, but i would if i was desperate, will keep your idea in mind :)

Have other people had to do this with brembos etc? what size spare wheel comes with the cupra r's?

Whats a spare for???

I think that's what it even tells you do in the manual....

it'd be bloody scarey on a space saver for steering & the majority of braking force
