Spliting gearknob from gaitor

HI I HAVE SEARCHED LOADS FOR THIS BUT JUST CAN GET IT SO HOW DO YOU SPLIT THE GEAR KNOB FROM THE LEATHER GAITOR PLEASE HELP

lift the gaiter up over the knob itself and you'll see a clip/strap around the neck

undo/butcher that and it will pull off

you dont mean the gearstick itself do u? iv already removed from gear stick and away from car

As said there is a little clip holding the leather to the gear knob/shaft.

Dam i just cant get it apart

its pretty difficult but if you wedge 2 flat headed screwdrivers in between the knob and plastic bit then eventually break it free.

be carefull not to let one of the screwdrivers slip and inpale in your hand

did mine last weekend, bit of a pig of a job to be honest, but it can be done
