sport 16v standard panel filter

I have just spunked £40 quid on a green filter, went to fit it and found this under my air box lid




ive never seen anything so weird in my life... has anyone replaced this with another panel filter and if so wat?

is it mesh or is it solid plastic blanking plate


either way get it out and get the new one in

its black rubber one section has a big hole and the other a slit......... the green one i have doesnt fit, need to send it back
