SRS fault codes

hi just had a coil go and whilst doing an engine fault code check i thought i may as well have a look through the rest of the menu on the fault code reader, in the SRS section it displayed 2 codes which are 01218 and 01217. I have done a searh but cant seem to find out what these are. Anybody got any ideas

Resistance too high

Side airbag igniter - front passenger side-N200
Resistance too high

Am i right in thinking that SRS is supplementary restraint system as in airbag systems?

So i was then both front pre-tensioners, check the connections firstly.

spot on m0rk, i had a feling it was somethng to do with them because i am running aftermarket front seats for track use, so they are unpluged at the mo.

there are no pre tensioners on the mk3

You can disable the airbags in vag-com, so that the remaining ones will fire in an accident, because currently - they won't

yeh i had a feeling the others would not fire but i was not aware you could disable the unpluged ones thats very helpful thanks i will look into doing it.

Hey guys,

I got fault code 01217 in VCDS lite on my mk1 LCR, which says resistance too high, intermittent.
Does anyone know if its safe to clear the fault code, as on ross tech site it says under certain circumstances this can fire the airbag.
This advice seems to relate to specifically a short to ground or positive, but mine only says resistance too high which i reckon might be due to the connector under the seat being loose?!

Any thoughts/advice would be great,
