Standard Alarm not working cupra r test

I have a 2002 seat leon cupra r not had it long

checking the handbook today says it has alarm immobliser

so i thought i would test it on the drive way

i opened the drivers side electric window, and locked the car as normal

waited till at least a min for the flashing light on the door pin to go to a steady constant and then stuck my hand through the window expecting it to go off nothing? no alarm ring

i pressed the keyfob just once to lock the car am i doing something wrong does it not have sensors for this?

To test the alarm, lock the car with fob to arm the alarm. Wait a minute, then go and open the boot with the key. Alarm should go off.

If it does, it's just the voluetric interior sensors which sometimes come disabled from the factory. If you have VAGCOM, you can activate the sensors, and if not, but your anywhere near me, I can do it for you.

it does have an alarm. as above its likely they the volumetric sensors have not been activated, many come from the factory like this.

btw i can't see any sensors attached on the pillars

The sensors are in the interior lights above the rear doors.

Whats the proceedure for enabling volumetric sensors?

My alarm goes off if I open the boot but not if I throw my cat into the car...........I have VAGCOM, just can't find out how to do it....?

On my LC (01)the alarm tone is the horn, did this change on the later models or can i change this on Vag- Com?

Can change the chirp tone via vag com http://www.seatcupra.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=553&Itemid=6

Open Up VAG-COM, and goto "Select Control Module"
Select module 46 - "Central Convenience"
In the Advanced Options section, click on Adaptation - 10
Open Channel 10. UK tone is 0, Asia is 1, Germany is 2, or Other is 3.
Close the controller, and close VAG-COM.

I did try that and the horn beeps when i arm the alarm, but was wondering about the alarm siren tone when it goes off (10 Alarm siren tone can be changed to UK, Asia, Germany, Other by entering 0,1,2 or 3) basically has my car got a siren and the horn or is it just the horn.

I'm pretty sure the alarm horn and the car horn are separate for obvious reasons.
I'm sure i read the alarm one is under the scuttle?

Just been searching seems the car horn is used for the alarm.

I have air horns on mine standard one was to weedy, i'll try it tomorrow to late now.

Actually scratch that mine "chirps" still when i lock it.
