I think the driver seat is just four tork/allen bolts through the runners - 2 at front, 2 at rear!

Hey people, sorry I haven't updated this thread in a while... They still haven't got back to me yet and I don't think I'll be able to salvage some parts off my car because the engineer has moved my car to a different place for further inspection and all hes left for the insurance company is a garage name with no address or telephone... So I have no idea where it is now...

Sorry to break the bad news to the people who wanted certain parts... This basically means for the time being unless I find out where my car is I will not be able to try and get stuff off my car ''if'' its a write off...

Will update again if I have more information from my insurance company about my car!

Fair enough mate! Have you tried doing a google or yell search to try and find the garage? If one comes up with the same name, its only a phone call to see if they've got your car!

If they declare it a write off - you can still visit the car to take bits from it. I had to do it with my Seat Toledo in 2006. :)

Hey guys, I'm very for my absent and late update on the situation about my car.. But I can now officially say it is a total loss.. Alot has happened since my crash and it was now declared a write off since the Monday just gone..

Thanks for all the replies on my thread and support.. It has been very helpful..

I paid a visit to the recovery garage and manage to take the Engine Cover, Parcel Shelf and thats it.. I was interested in taking my exhaust off, but that would have involved me to replace it with another one and would have been to much fuss.. Also I couldn't take anything else because the Insurance Company would have deducted the value of my car from what they originally have given me..

If anyone is interested in a Engine Cover from a 56 Ibiza 1.4 DAB then please say.. Don't know if anyone would be interested in this item, but I also have a DAB face without the stereo..

Again.. Sorry for the late update..

Thanks

you not thought of buying it back off them and repairing it yourself? there didnt seem to be that much damage in the pics.

DAB 88, whats your next plan of action, bad news about the car, sorry man, unfortunetely **** happens in this world of ours, what u gonna get next, any ideas? fixing it yourself is an option but maybe cheaper buying another car!

Alot has happened since the crash.. The first crash I had was not a write-off..

The garage managed to fix the damages from my crash in the pics and it would have cost me 2.5k if I paid privately.. So instead I paid a £550 excess policy fee instead.. I was so happy my car was fixed.. I inspected all the bodywork and it was like new again! I signed the forms of approval saying I am happy with everything and drove away, but then I noticed that it was not ok at all to drive away at all..

Firstly my steering wheel alignment was out.. If I was driving straight, my steering wheel would be titled like 45 degrees left instead of center.. My tracking was all over the place.. It had major pull on the left also my rear jet washer shot up at my brake light spoiler instead of my window..

I took it back several times to try and get it sorted, but it was never sorted out properly.. At times I requested a courtesy car so I can leave my car at their garage to fix and give it back to me when it is all done, but they said I wasn't allowed to.. Therefore I had to drive back in the condition it is..

After a week driving it in its condition.. I noticed a serious issue which could be potentially dangerous which did eventually lead to the downfall of my car being wrote off.. When I tried turning my ignition on now and then.. My car would cut out completely.. All the power would go.. I noticed out of frustration from me stomping my clutch down hard etc and then trying to turn my ignition on again, my car would start up which was weird.. I thought it was just a little thing, but my dad told me to go back to the garage to sort it out.. So I went back to them and their reply was its nothing to do with a the battery connections because the car would not turn on otherwise.. They suggested it was something wrong with my car computers and said they don't have the facilities to do it in their garage which to be honest i found really unprofessional.. The fact I can't believe is that they allow me to drive away with a unsafe car, but whats done is done now..

Unfortunately for me.. I was involved in another accident at 3am on the A470 on the following week when I had planned to go my dealers to ask what the problem was..

I don't know what happened.. It was hammering down.. I was going around a bend and all a sudden the electric flicked off and I panicked and slammed my breaks to stop on the side, but I slid and lost control.. Spun and hit the crash barrier and nearly came of the bridge.. I just couldn't believe it.. I only had my car back just over a month and this happens.. Why me? What did I do wrong?

The police came and everything and the problem was all sorted out and my car was taken away to a recovery garage.. I phoned my insurance company straight away the next day about the situation and what has happened and that it wasn't my fault etc.. And then they said they might not proceed with my repairs and claim because my insurance policy does not cover electrical faults.. I told them my car was not like this before my last crash and we had a long talk and said they would pursue the case further with the garage to see if there was a problem, but they said that my claim may not be processed if it turns out not to be the garages fault, but instead my car..

After a long wait and no phone call back, I decided to phone them again to see what the outcome is and they told me that they will process my claim and that my car is repairable and that the garage will contact me in few hours about the full details etc which I was very glad to hear.. After a few hours of waiting they never got back to me and I phoned up myself, but the garage was now closed..

I phoned up the next day and what they told me shocked me.. They said that my car is not repairable.. So I contacted my insurance company and they said there has been a misunderstanding and that a engineer will phone me up soon to discuss my car value with me.. He offered me 6.6k for my car and no more.. What I forgot to ask is do I have to pay for my Excess Fee which is £550 because if thats the case.. I will not accept because it is the garage who should pay for it I believe..

Its been a crazy few weeks for me.. Alot has happened and I don't know what to do now.. I start University in September and I was originally going to drive now and then or catch the train, but because of this I might have to move into halls and I don't know if I want to.. Also if I was to get a car my insurance is about 3.5-4.5k at the moment for my Ibiza if I was to get insured on it.. I checked.. I was thinking of getting a old banger and start building up my no claims while leaving it in the garage, but that was just a idea..

As for a next car.. I was really interested in the new shape Clio 197's.. But again the insurance.. Probably be like 6k for them now because it was 3.5k for a Corsa VXR before my crash.. At the moment I'm driving a Matiz which is a courtesy car I for until next Monday.. I'm so unlucky aye..

Sh*t mate! That's propa bad news! Sounds like the repair centre dont know :moon: from elbow! Obviously didnt road test the car before they gave it back to you.

How come your looking at Corsa VXR's and Clio 197's....???

Ummm don't know really just fancied a really fast hot hatch and the Corsa VXR when it came out caught my eyes, but I moved on from there and eyed up the 197's recently and heard they pack quite a punch, but way out of my reach now.. Need to think more sensible now if I'm going to get another car.. And I really doubt they road tested my car because they would spot the faults otherwise..

As for the pics..
