steering wheel re-trim

Alcantara on a sterring wheel of a car that is used regularly really isnt a good idea!! It wears very quickly, and with sweat and skin etc it begins to look tatty a hell of a lot quicker than leather (unless its seat leather lol).

I learnt this from a racing puma i had, feels lovely, but just gets wrecked

I'll ask for [real] leather then,,, red stitches,,, will ask then how much for the insert at 9.15,,, will let you know,,,

Do you think an aftermarket steering wheel [it makes it so early 90's for me,,,] would be cheaper?? I thought the re-trim could cost about 100 euros,,, will have to ask anyway,,,

Seeing that you live in italy, it may well be cheaper to get it trimmed.....

The trim shops that i have dealt with here in the uk would suggest to me that it is cheaper to buy an aftermarket steering wheel, i think the red stitching would look cool.....I take it you have the red inserts on the seats so it will match?

Alcantara type material is an option like acid said but does get grimy fairly quick. Black leather with red stitching and red leather with black stitching as a 2 tone effect would be far better imo.

I don't have red inserts but I got all red instruments and the mats with red stitched borders then I might ask for a gearstick retrim too in the same way,,, I guess that would go,,,

Not so long ago I picked up a Cupra R steering wheel (red stitching) off there for £50. Might be worth a look.

Only thing I doubt there will be some used steering wheels in good condition. Has the cupra r steering wheel any special logo on it? I don't want that since mine isn't a cupra nor a cupra r,,,

Here they re-trim the steering wheel in leather for about 60-90€, depends on your choice of leather.
