Stereo Code

I think i need to do a reset (ie disconnect battery for 20 odd mins), will my stereo require a code when i re connect? If so, where can i find this?

No thats true, well i just disconnected it for 2 mins and it was ok. Phew

well the answer is actually yes you do need the code.

but i think you just about got away with that one.

the code is in the seat pack on the stereo bookelt.

Checked my stero booklet but no code.

ring the dealer for the code, they might charge you tho, it should be on a card 4 digit number.

you were lucky you didnt need the code, ive always needed the code no matter how long the battery has been off for.

maybe as you are a lucky chappy the dealer will warm to you and give you the code for free!

cos iv had my battery off over night...and theres no code!

as mentioned earlier...u cant remove the tape player to fit something else...so wot good would nicking it do!

Thats what i thought but i heard i may need a code if disconnecting the battery Just thought id check.

Yeah, mine was off for about 8 hours the other week and no code required.

Auto electrician at work said to me once that some of the VAG cars are 'self learning' with the engine management computer

it's because the awkward stereo won't fit anything else! so no point putting a code on it.
