Ok peeps, my LC is still mis-firing. Ive changed all the plugs, the coil packs are all "L" prefix's and one has been replaced as it was all nasty looking, the MAF has been recently replaced and im still mis-firing under load

When i put my foot down i can feel it mis-fire.
Ive noticed with the bonnet up, that when i turn the ignition on i can here a high pitch noise that goes on for about 45 seconds (read somewhere its the TB aliging?) is this normal?

I just need to find the reason for this mis-firing

Any ideas?

have you checked tdc sensor. are you sure its mis-firing and not over fueling. poss oxygen sensor or blocked cat.

what and where is the tdc and oxygen sensor as im new to all the malarky. And a blocked cat? dont know how on that one.

If it is over fueling i dont know the best way to stop it

start with the basics, bosch d/v and have a good look at your air filter, dont know much about that filter, check to see it is not full of crap, when was it last cleaned etc?

where did you get your coil packs to? are these the correct ones.... new or second hand?

brand new air filter. Got my replacement coil pack from seat. I would have expected it to be a new one.

Just did a fault code check and aparantly "pressure lost between turbo and throttle valve(check D.V!)"

A slight idea on what might be the problem, mates getting a golf gti turbo at 3 today and it has a forge recirc on it. its chrome but dont know the model number. He not gonna be using it (got an atmospheric) so ill steal that

just been out in it and its just as bad as it was before the plug change. If it is over fuelling how can i check/change it? its doing my suede in

top dead centre (tdc) sensor is normally run off fly wheel and sits somewhere around the gearbox housing but some times run off pully end of crank. you would have to do a resistance test on one you know is ok and then yours to compare. you should have 2 oxygen sensors upstream (before cat) and downstream (after cat) but you would normally get an open circit fault on your diagnostic tool if ether of these were at fault.

pressure lost between turbo and throttle valve. tbh it sounds like a split pipe or leaking intercooler try erasing fault and starting car back up to make sure same fault occurs. if it does what is the p code.

erased the fault, didnt come back. Its mis-firing like a bi-atch now. Even at low revs. It struggles in almost every gear. I have to drive it so slowly.
how much do VAG charge for new coil packs as changing the remaining 3 out of warranty seems my only option

looked on eurocarparts and all i could find was ignition coil (im guessing coil packs) and they are
BERU n/a 413440400 IGNITION COIL A3/A4/A6/TT LATE 20V
£17.13
REPLACEMEN n/a 413440401 IGNITION COIL A3/A4/A6/TT LATE 20V
£17.13

so if that is coil packs then its £20 each (P+P to be added) i think thats pretty good

i have it, its on and its still like poo. i might go over to westec its only over the border...if i could see the turbo id have a listen and a careful feel around the pipes (not trying to burn myself)
