A faulty maf could have been seen within 5 seconds with VAGCOM....

Did you get your diagnosis scale for MAF reading extended to max. possible airflow?

just found your thread mate... only read the last 3-4 pages but all seems to be bad news,, enough to put any1 off hybriding no matter whos fault it is.. hope everything is fixed soon,, btw loving the orange wheels

ok new maf is no better if not worse some times it pulls hard sometimes its as though i lose all power and black smoke everywhere..
but when she pulls hard the boost now drops down to 1.5bar at 4k then up to 1.9 at4.5k its stupid i hope this is just a maf if not i have been told possibly sticky veins?? but on a new hybrided unit??
if anyone can help it will be appreciated..
the boost is all over the place could this be map sensor??even though logs were fine??

beautiful project.
the color, then the white is my favorite .
on the preparation, the level of the engine, have you register in some forums Portuguese, for information, some of the big TDI engine's.

Basically the amount of boost going through the car is too much for the map sensor to read so as a fail safe go's into limp mode.

so i should try a new map sensor too??
plus today i drove down to my local train station at a nice eco pace and got 25mpg what is going on with my car??
is this maf??
i new the car would be not so eco but thats just silly!!
also last night took her for a spin and the boost was all over the place again

Thats pretty low mpg.

I really dont know Karl. Sounds like same problem i had when turbo went but I doubt your turbo would have died so soon, you just got it.

1) Maf
2) Faulty n75

I would take it to a specialist tbh.

We have tried a new map and maf sensor and still the same symptons, we have ordered a new n75 valve today and it will be here tommorow. If the symptons are still the same with new n75 the turbo will more than likely be going back to TD.

i was thinking turbo but i spoke to TD and they said mapping (i new they would say that)i explained the situation
but they said if its actuator they need the turbo back, ok thats fine BUt they wont pay my expenses for removal andfitting for the turbo which is poo because its there fault the turbo(if thats what it is) has gone!!
but like TD said if the actuator had of gone i would have thought it would not be so weirdly boosting but holding weird boost not fluctuating??

The map just asks for a given amount of boost and there is no way the map will request more boost at 4.5k than its requesting at 4k.

There will be a faulty piece of hardware someware. Not too clued up on derv tubbys but from what I can gather it does sound like sticking veins. If it is its not the first time a brand new tubby has failed and it wont be the last time.

Finger crossed for you mate.
