Suspension 1.6 -> 2.0 GTi

I've got a '98 1.6 SXE, lovely first car but doesnt quite have the zip im after, when (if) ive got a years no claims behind me i'm pretty sure i'll be moving on to a GTi (probably 8v), fallen in love with this damn mk2 shape

Anyway, the suspensions a bit on the crap side considering im working in milton keynes and wondered if i could upgrade the suspension on the 1.6 (and keep the originals for when i wanna sell it) then transfer the suspension to the GTi when i upgrade?

Its all a bit new to me and i dont really know where to look for this sort of info (other than here )

yup - that'll work fine. axle weights should be almost the same - so get the 2.0 kit

You shouldn't have any problems. The ones on the site below list the 1.6 and the 2.8 8v as the same part numbers.

Thanks guys, i'll be investing in one of them in that case, would i be right in thinking that other than engine/ecu/brakes most would be common between the 1.6 and the 2.0?
