yeh maybe it will pull more torque in this weather as my last RR was in September i think. Anyway, i have no intercooler or turbo back yet either. Torque is quite low, but still pulling 220g/s according to Shaun at AmD who described my car as 'immensley fast' for a stage 1, as he took it for a spin. The figures were more stage 2 numbers. You ask D.K how impressed Shaun was with my car!!!. It has always been more top end though but would prefer more low down torque tbh.

Anyway hope you sort the little problems out asap buddy

Yeah going to check as much as I can at the weekend mate. Don't get any daylight to check at the moment, work early then home when it's dark... bad times.

Nice mate... If shaun says it's quick then it must be! When you thinking of of the intercooler and turbo back?
That'll be quick then if you go stage 2.......... ;)

Low down torque is lovely, really helps to drive the car easier at lower speed I've found.

220 g/sec is premier leaque for stage one. Get a 3 inch tip on there and a jetex if you aint got one already and say hello to 230g /sec. Don't worry about the low torque its only peak boost related, tweaking the boost will get you better figuers but i doubt it will drive any better.

220g/sec is very good for stage one. You could expect even more from a jetex and 3" TIP I reckon, another 15 g/s with those 2?

Man I want my 3" TIP to turn up so bad now!! Looking forward to putting it on the rollers with the TIP being the only difference on the car from the runs nearly a week ago.

:)

Quick update..

My ESP light is stuck on, but clears when you turn off and on again. Thinking it's the ABS sensor that's gone.

I have got a cable and free basic vagcom on a cd turn up though, so going to try that out this afternoon on the laptop and see what it brings up.

The car doesn't feel great at the moment tbh. And I'm thinking it's still something to do with the EML light which was on earlier in the week. Since my mate cleared that light it hasn't come back up as yet. But I haven't done many miles.

The car is in AmD anyway next weekend so I'm going to get it all sorted out.

Once all these niggles are sorted, I'm having 2 bigger things done to the car which are:

1) Replace whole fan arrangement like for like parts. Mine are so bad now. They cut in every 5 mins if your sitting in traffic. Getting really annoying.
2) Replace all brakes and change fluid. Going for EBC discs with ferodo ds2500's on the front. At the rear I'm replacing OEM like for like after reading on here alot it's not really worth upgrading for EBC's etc..

I did want to do the ARBs and full Superpro bushkit, but that's gona be late spring now the way my fans are going now. Oh well... One day it will get to the stage where I'm happy with it.

On a better note, I'm still loving the exhaust and map though. Really does fly. But I do think that it'll feel alot better once all these small problems are sorted out.

Little niggles of this kind are expected mate so don't bog down on them too much. They will get ironed out for sure. Good to see your sorting the brakes, I wouldn't feel comfortable having that much more grunt without looking into the brakes hence why I am doing mine now also

Yeah agree mate, just going to go out and scan the car in about 10mins see what the latest is, lol.

Brakes defo need doing, but as it is a weekend car it is not 100% urgent but still want them done as soon as I can afford to really. You do notice how bad they are when your stage 2 :cartman:

Will be calling Bill when funds allow me to upgrade it all.

What route you going with the brakes? I don't think there's a better pad than ds2500's on the front tbh.

Ordered the EBC Ultimax and Motul RBF660 brake fluid from Bill. I had DS2500's before and thought they were great however gone for something different this time round just to set a comparison. AmD highly recommended the Mintex 1144's as they found them to be spot on with their Golf BTCC car so I have these.

Rears I changed a few months ago for OEM stuff as I too did some fishing about and everyone saying the same thing, stick with OEM!!

Nice once mate. Are your discs grooved then? Drilled are rubbish Bill states. Prone to cracking etc. I might get the plain one's as the grooved are another 60-70 quid more for a pair. I've gotta get these fans done soon as I can really too so can't throw way too much at the brakes. I will likely be getting Motul fluid too as this needs doing. They feel dodgey under hard braking now, so I must get them sorted really!

Interesting choice on the pads, are they on now or are you yet to get those on? Would be interested in how they do for sure. Always good to have options out there to consider :)

OEM allday long on the rears then, lol.

Yup grooved and look nuts.............although black at the moment which I've been told wear off after some miles and they go to normal colour!!

Not on the car yet, I have everything now so will be getting it done with my mate (who is a crazy mechanic). Will be putting up a review for sure. When bedded in I'l take you for a spin to show you how they are

Oh man, your making me want to go for grooved but I really shouldn't!!! :p
Yeah that'll wear off I'm sure after some miles. My mate has the EBC Ultimax grooved and rates them very highly.

Ok mate cool, are you coming to the AmD RR day? Can take me for a spin then! Doubt I will have new brakes by then lol.

Tom i have the Jabbasport induction kit.

If it was me, i would invest in the 2 piece brake discs...they may be expensive but, the LCR is a great car- treat it. I was going to buy some second hand ones with 8k miles on them and get them refurbed. But as always something crops up. I agree with the rear discs, no need to upgrade as its a waste of money

Ah cool, decent bit of kit that!

Yeah I know, I really would love 2 piece discs... but all comes down to cash. Mine are rubbish at the moment so an EBC upgrade with decent pads will feel a million times better at the moment. Maybe if I have the cash at the time I'll go 2 piece mate.

Got them for £120 delivered so about the same as the Ferrodo pads

That's not too shabby..
Do AmD rate these over the Ferodo's or just a good alternative?
