Picked up my lovely wee Leon tdi 150 a few weeks back. Cracking motor and a joy to drive apart from one thing. Are the brakes on all of these things a bit crap or is it just mine? The discs have loads of life left so it's not them. I don't drive it hard and I came from a bmw 320d estate and always thought the brakes weren't spectacular on that. But they're worse on this! Anyone?

how old is it mate, on my 53 plate mrk1 130 sport TDI (vented disc's all round) the little piston/guide pins with the rubber boots over get dirt/brake dust in them the grease dries up and affects the performance..well they seem to on mine...
Ive just bought a 2010 530D touring and the brakes on that are not spectacular either but then it is a heavier car.

some on here do get bigger brakes put on...there are plenty of threads about it on here.
my Leon has been chipped to 170+ and the brakes do fade under vigorous driving.
