Temperature needle moved - Big Problem!!!???

after nearly 18 months with my car the temperature gauge has never ever gone above dead centre, today i was driving down the motorway and it crept to the next line!

i checked the water and for any obvious leaks but al seemed fine, turned the engine back on and it sat back at dead centre!!!

Any ideas what this could be???

Oh bloody! hope not, it was replaced i think at AmD a couple of months ago!

Check the fuse on the top of the battery closest to the wing

that one slipped my mind!

i did smell somthing a little out of the ordinary under the bonnett!!!!!

Hmm, the fuse box is fine but after some market research i think it could be the temperature sender! anyone know if this is checkable Via VAG-COM?? i will run a check on the car tomorrow to see if it throws up any codes!

im awaiting confirmation if a new pump already in there
