I've just realised it's exactly ten years to the day since I collected my Leon Cupra from an importer in Holland. It cost £14.5k back then for the full UK-spec + extras, but owes me absolutely nothing today.
86,000 miles later and it still brings a smile to my face whenever I squeeze the throttle .
It's passed every MoT first time and has only let me down 3 times:
1). snapped earth strap between the battery and starter motor (AA roadside fix);
2). knackered battery (AA roadside fix); and,
3). clutch slave cylinder failure.
It's also suffered from a handful of the usual VAG problems, but nothing that wasn't a straightforward and inexpensive fix. The bodywork could do with a little TLC, but a bit of polish and elbow grease will soon sort that out.
Here's to another ten years (unlikely I know ), but I've no reason to sell it just yet.
