thinking of selling my cupra...

... havent had the car at all, i go back to uni in a month. Really the car isn't practical, as i am having to work more to maintain it, where as ideally i should be working less so i can study (last year of uni). Uni is three times a week and 70mile trip, two people i used to share lifts with have changed options. So im considering selling and doing the sensible thing and getting a diesel/more economical car , sensible is boring though - i just make up my mind. How much could i get for the car - 2001 Y reg 20k miles, Hpi clear, recent service, mint condition. Advice please John

an ibiza 1.9 tdi 130 which you can probably pick up quite cheap can be revo'd to 180bhp, and mpg would be fantastic, ragging the diesel would be the same mpg as driving really sensible in the 1.8t.

Cheaper insurance too.

yeh really low miles, its arctic grey and totally standard, cant decide whether to sell up or not. i don't know

sell it, then go buy a mk4 TDi 130 ibiza, which start at arounf 5.5k for high miles and mid 6's for average miles. Remap for 500 quid and you have 180 bhp 60mpg possible, group 7 insurance and a car that will make a standard mk3 cupra look slightly silly.

if u wer doing 70 miles a day id say sell it but three times a week isnt that much keep it! uv gota minter there ul only have to cum bk and have to try to get another mk3 and u wont wid that millage! when u reliase uv made a mistake!

180bhp with no FMIC on a 130 just remap, might last for all of 10 minutes on any day above 0- degrees celcius!

well nearer 170 bhp realistically, but should be ok, never had problems on standard bumpers with limp mode, its only when i changed to cupra bumpers without Intercooler i noticed limp
