Keep you eye out for early FR TDi's. I spent a few months looking for a TDi Sport for the wife, they were very rare! We were lucky and ended up with an 04 plate FR TDi. Managed to get ours for £7.5k with 23k miles and FSSH, that was back in January, the FR's interior is a bit more inspiring than the TDi sport, and look a bit more sporty with the silver mirrors / different alloys. I love the facelift version, but you're looking at £10k plus for a TDi.... We also priced up the costs of running a Cupra, insurance was over £200 more per year for starters which put us off. If you want a bit more power, a nice re-map will sort it out

yeah il probably get the FR remapped....its only for the missus for commuting anyway.........

insurance isn't an issue as we are both over 25 and she already pays out for a mk3 ibiza cupra mapped....at about £490 fully comp.

i think thats probably why i have already plumped for the FR rather than the sport tbh and hoping to find an FR with about 20k miles on for about £7k hopefully....the cupra isn't really practical as the car will be used for lots of miles and i wouldn't want to put a nice car thru tho miles...

where did you find urs Rob? on here or autotrader?

Cheers

Rich

Rich - I found our FR at an independant local dealer on the forecourt, they specialise in VAG cars, but I don't think they realised TDI's fetch more than the petrols, hence the low price. I think the insurance for both of us is £220 fully comp and the Cupra was up near the £500 mark. A big difference if you want to start saving some money....

I would get a list of local independant dealers and search their web sites, use Google to find them.... Also have a word with your local Seat dealer, express interest in any px's that may come in and if your not bothered by having a warranty / px see if you can do a cash deal with them.... As you say, kepp your eyes peeled on Autotrader and Ebay, but be careful and get HPI checks done.

Best of luck..
