Been having low performance issues for a while and have finaly got myself sorted with vag-com..

Its pulling up error code 17536: Fuel trim. bank to lean..
Also did a quick log and the g\s figures maxed out at about 108 before dropping off again in 3rd gear..

By the way its running revo stg1.
Done a quick search and both error and the g\s figures seem to pointing to the maf..
Would I be right in thinking this?????

I would change the MAF if i was you, you could try unplugging the MAF and go for a drive that will put your mixture to a standard safe mode and you will be able to see what it drives like.

hmmmm... i tried unplugging the maf... didn't seem to drive any different.. well i didn't notice any difference.. wether it was running a bit richer and safer i don't know but it certainly didn't pull any harder...

i too have low g/s, max 130 ,but my car still pulls fairly good ??? any other reason my maf would read low ???

Big lad - I did a log of block 003 which shows you rpm, load, g\s and timing. I think thats what it shows anyway I forgoten already.... Am new to vag-com as well. Have figured how useful it can be its just figuring out how to use it effectively...

Another question for all..
The fuel trim to lean is the only fault logged but the only light that appears on the dash is the tc\abs light. is this normal for this kind of fault and how\why is the maf connected into the tc\abs system??? just trying to get a better understanding of system.. All a bit new to me....

good to here its normal, but why on earth is the maf linked in with the tc\abs system????. would the engine check light come on only if the maf was completely fubar'd as in no signal at all??
Still can't quite understand why it brings the tc light on.... good to know the is most likely the maf bringing up the light and not another fault......

Was the car stationary when you did this log, or is it best to perform a road test of sorts and have a passenger checking VAG-COM while you're driving? :)

big lad...
You can do a real time log and look at the figures after...
you just need to tell it when to start and stop..
Basicly wants to be a foot flat to the floor from start to finish hence 100% load. log in say 3rd or 4th gear (i used 3rd mainly coz its all back roads with not many straights out my way so 105 ish mph is about all you'll get before braking for corner... private road ofcourse)

You want to be doing the log from real low revs 2k or under all the way upto redline or if remaped no real need going over 6k because its all downhill by then anyway.....
