Damn right Ash. The torque certainly makes it interesting in the wet.

Plan now is to get water/meth fitted, get a second set of wheels with sticky tyres on, get my new pipes to replace whats left of the standard ones from spitfire performance, and then get it back to pod.

Wicked.

So i won't have the fastest 5door TDi no more!

Wish id have kept mine and hybrided it...

You do at current as its not officially the fastest yet, being that i have no recorded times.

Looking to get to pod ASAP though and set some times though.

You still have the fastest stage 1, 5 door though, as best mine managed was 15.02.

You should buy yours back and hybrid it ;)

Oh there are plenty more plans yet.

Glad to hear that its inspired you. Is yours standard at the moment then?

Not far off. Only got a green panel filter and a DPT tuning box at the moment.

Just bought a whiteline rear ARB though so hopefully get that stuck on this w/e. Then I'm thinking PD160 intake and/or exhaust. Just not sure on which first and whether to just go for a mufflerectomy or not.

What do you think?

Yet another update. Been spending more of my hard earned, on a set of boost pipes that go from my turbo up to the forge pipework, then from the forge pipework up to the inlet mani, including an EGR delete.

Pipes are a new product and the first set produced (barring a prototype set made from a different material which had issues). They are made by Spitfire performance.

The advantage? No more rubbish VAG connections and no more worrying about pipes blowing off either.

Also gave the engine a bit of a clean as it was in a right old state.

Anyway, the important part:

Unfortunately I currently have no pictures of the lower pipework, but next time i have the car up on the ramps, i'll be sure to take some.

£185 pound all in mate.

Well worth it though just to get rid of ALL the crap VAG connections in the boost pipework.

That also included the EGR delete, which alone would set you back over £50.

Personally havn't notice any real difference, but the girlfriend said my car felt quicker the day after having them fitted without realising id had any work done on it.

To be honest its not about making more power. Its about being able to handle the pressures running through the system, and preventing pipes from blowing off.

Personally havn't notice any real difference,

The only real difference I noticed was the you dont get the puff of black smoke pass your window when you start the car up first thing in the morning. Before it used to give a puff of smoke, now it doesnt.

And I was the same as you Tom....just wanted to get rid of OEM pipework as I didnt trust it.

Finally got round to scanning my RR graph, so here it is:

Also did a few timed 0-60's the other night using an app on my mates i-phone.

Best time I managed was 5.7s so fairly pleased with that.
