I hope stage 1 is as pleasing as stage 2. It probably will be for me, my old car was a 1.4 rover with an almighty 83bhp :D I'm going to call time on the car after the remap and TIP for a month or two. Get myself some sort of campervan sorted for next summer, although I'm sure I won't be able to resist coilovers and a fmic for too long.

I'll let you know how I get on and cheers for the offer mate.

Stage one will be just as good a shock mate! The difference in torque you will just want more and more of! :)

Bet that Rover shifted some!! Good on petrol though.. :)

fmic and coilovers are good but not necessary! The remap is for sure. I'm having a break at the moment too of any big mods. Need to get bushes/brakes sorted next before I can think of uprated rods, clutch and flywheel etc.

The rover was too quick if anything. 0-60 in 11 seconds, cheek wobbling stuff! It wasn't even good on fuel I was lucky to get anything over 34mpg from it mate. So glad I downgraded to an LCR  Coilovers I want mainly for cosmetic reasons, since seeing the difference between yours before/after coilovers. Looks so much better lowered. Although to be honest, there's so many speed bumps round here I have enough routes to avoid as it is. Might be a bad idea. Excited to get it done for sure, hope it keeps me satisfied for a while for my wallets sake.

Lol it sounded rapid mate! ;)
Reminds me of my 1st couple of cars, 1.2 Clio's, 1997 P reg 1.2(poo) as I called it and an 02 plate 1.2 but 16v! Was a nippy little thing. I slammed that and it had a magnex exhaust, pioneer bluetooth HU with 2x12 sony xplod subs and amp rocking 1800w. Oh the fun back when I was 18!!:lol:

Coilovers initially yes cosmetic and look the dogs. Mine settled more too from when they we're 1st fitted so bare this in mind if you get them and slam it lower than low at 1st. As it will go down further still and you might end up rubbing arches etc. I got AmD to adjust mine to fast-road and not too low, and it's gradually settled lower and lower over time to how it is now.

I don't have too many speed bumps near me where I live but if I did I'd have to seriously question coilovers I guess. It's a shame what they do to our roads really!! Already full of holes etc.

Mate the remap will keep you very happy! I look forward to driving mine everytime these days. Not so much small rubbish town journeys as you can't really tell it's there, but open it up and you will be overjoyed! Just keep your eye out for the plod/undercover cars. These LCR's get to legal figures so quickly once mapped, and you won't realize it!

My first was a peugeot 206 1.1, total nightmare car. Used to cut out on motorways, I'd lose power steering etc. ECU problems, the whole lot. Then the rover, built an audio set up myself too like you did. Twin JBL subs with 1800 watts rms, used to pop the boot open :D No need to bother with that on the LCR though, sound is good enough as it is.

I'm vigilant as it is, always got undercovers round here mate, even on the town ring road. Quite often I've been hitting a slip road and caining past inside lane traffic without realising it

Once again cheers for the advice so far mate much appreciated. Hope to get it looking as good as yours some day.

I had a 206 1.4 before my current LCR, and it was oddly perfect mechanically! I traded it in for the Leon and some kid who bought it literally was caught speeding a week after buying it. So I got the police letter saying 'you've been caught speeding' blah blah blah, but it was because the DVLA hadn't changed the registered keeper details quickly enough! So I told the police near Sussex I think it was, where to go! Lol

Yup it's too easy in these cars to suddenly look down at the speedo and go 'oops' how did that happen. Well it does because the cars are so smooth under boost! Bit more noticeable with a turbo back exhaust and running higher boost when mapped, but still too easily done.

No worries mate, anything I can help with I will try to do. I'm off now, gotta go get a new brake light bulb and maybe some more wheelnut bolt covers. There are two types on the LCR and the rounded base one's wouldn't fit over my longer locking bolts so off to the dealer's I go in the search for some to acrylic and gloss up later! Gotta keep the car happy!! Lol.

Finding out this afternoon if I can book a day off end of this week, if I get the green light from work I wonder what the chances are of getting booked in at AMD thurs/fri  Going to call them as soon as I find out about the time off. Fingers crossed.

Good luck mate! Hope you can book it in. Gives me a reason to pop down there later in the week. I need to go Lakeside to the Apple store aswell.

Me too mate, eager to get it done now otherwise I'll have to wait another week :( I don't think I can last that long without sleep! I'm hoping because the weather is crap there may be some cancellations or something, have to see what they say. Be good to meet you and see your LCR in the flesh if you can make it. Will probably make mine look like a tractor :D

Haha don't think I could sleep the night before stage 2 and the milltek! Serious excitement!!

Yeah weather is poo at the moment but I think from tomorrow till next week it's going to be dry and fairly warm.. I might need some bits doing down AmD yet so if you get yours booked in I will get down there the same day. I should be free as I'm waiting around for my new job to start on Monday, lol.
Deflate your tyres for less tractor look bud

Same as me once I'd put the deposit down on the car. I hadn't even driven it before just fell in love with it first time I saw it and couldn't sleep for a week waiting for it to get MOT'd and cambelt done lol. That's cool mate, I'm itching to get a reply from my boss about the time off so I can call them asap, will let you know on here as soon as I book. £300 for the map and the petrol cash is pretty much my monthly budget for the car, so I'm going to have to behave and not get sucked into buying loads of other stuff while there lol.

I was the same  Had the intention of putting a deposit down once I saw the car.. But obviously had to give it a thorough check over to make sure it was as it seemed.
I'm itching for your reply too, lol. The end of the week is looking good weather wise so would be nicer to see each others cars outside with no rain in sight!

Ha, you might get tempted into other mods. But I'm sure the remap will suffice for a good while!!

Spose I'd better wash it as well then  get some pics of them next to eachother. Except I'll stand by your one, lol.

Been told by someone to go for REVO as it's much better than AMD and worth the extra cash. Thrown a bit of a spanner in the works for me but I'm still going to go with AMD, if it's not as good then I'll have to pay the price.

Forecast for Lakeside mate:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2988?area=RM20

No need to stand by mine yours will look good!

REVO is more adjustable with it's SPS controller and that's what makes me think shall I get one one day? But for now my AmD map is just fine and it pulls like a train so no complaints. Only niggle was the cold start issue adam and brad had. Mine did it twice.

I think you'll be pretty pleased with the results. You get rolling road runs so you'll get a base to work from and you might be pleasantly surprised. I think you will as the car has been serviced regularly, run on high octane v-power and is running well to my knowledge?

Check out this vid of AmD's VW Golf Mk5 touring car on the same rollers last night:

Just come across it on facebook. Sounds alright that!!

Run on tesco momentum usually although it has had 95 for past week or so while waiting for pay day. New plugs 2 weeks ago. Cash is my only obstacle hence my deicision to go with AMD. For now I will be happy I'm sure. Not too fussed about numbers as long as it feels good but obv the higher the better ;)

Good to see the weather is improving, might make the drive home more enjoyable.

Momentum is good stuff mate, that's my alternative if I'm not near my Shell and need petrol :)
AmD will advise for the car to be run on the highest ron fuel before it's mapped.
I've got a figure in my head your car will make ;)

Drive home will be lovely!! [B)]

I was actually very surprised to see so little faults when I scanned with vag com. Had a worry that I would have got myself a duff LCR or something, but since the fault scan has been empty I'm a bit more confident. It's done 75k so not sure if it will make much as standard. What figures have you got in your head then?

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I logged a 3rd gear run last friday. Only managed to get to 4600 before having to slow down :( but after looking at the torque nm figure vs rpm I calculated I had a crazy torque value. Like 250lbs/ft and 202bhp or something  I'm guessing it's not very accurate!

Buying used LCR's can be a bit of a lottery mate. My 1st black LCR was just under 2 years old when I bought it and had 2 faults the 1st time it was scanned. It was completely standard too.

This one was faultless 1st time it was scanned. Not how I expected it to be but it's a bit of a lotto.

75k is nothing on these lumps. There are loads running stage 1 & 2 on here that have done well over 100k and running well. Just needs good servicing, the right fuel and love ;)

I think yours will make 265-275bhp with torque around the same probably a tad more. If it's a warmer day it might be down on these though. Main thing is it drives well on the road post-mapping. So if your not happy when you leave, turn round and get them to resolve it on the day. They will do.

Similar figures to what I was thinking, which I will be happy with. A bigger TIP and FMIC may help me get a bit higher but for now that's fine by me :) I think after I've done those 3 I will just focus on making it look nice, blue hosing etc. AMD sound like a good bunch which is good to know.

FMIC and badger TIP to go with the jetex will edge you closer to 280+ mark then alot depends on how well the car has been run, serviced, fuel that goes in etc as to how much more you can squeeze.. Also no boost leaks will help! :)

You won't be able to upgrade to the stage 2 map until the sports cat and downpipe is on one day. But you could get that on further down the line with the upgrade coming in cheap as you will already have the AmD stage 1. They're a top bunch down there mate.
