Cheers EL. Bit melodramatic for a coil pack ;) but yeh, I did fear the worst. The car sounded like **** and drove so badly I convinced myself it was something worse.

Well, maybe I'm having a crazy bank holiday moment but I'm thinking of selling up and getting something a bit cheaper to buy outright. I arranged recently to go travelling next summer with a couple of mates to road trip round Europe in a van, now I've got my heart well and truly set on it I need to make it happen. First expense is the motor, as it is for all of us. I'll properly decide in the next couple of days, already seen a few other motors I can get which will still be fun, and will leave me a nice sum to pick up a van also.

Going to give the car a thorough clean inside and out this afternoon and see how I feel afterwards. It was a brainwave this afternoon so I may change my mind, but knowing I could sell this and have a decent motor + the van I need for next year - it's hard to convince myself to keep it.

Cheers, that's what I'm thinking Mark. I don't want to wake up at 30 years old and regret not doing it :\

Yeah, I know what you mean, I'm 32. Spent 10 years of my life in a relationship I really didn't want to be in and it's only the last 3 and a bit years that I'm finally doing things for me rather than for everyone else.

It's very refreshing. I have a fair few regrets in my life about things I should have done. :)

Well at least you're doing them now eh mate? You're making up for it and 32 is still young ;)

If I sell up I'll look at getting an rx8 or something, they're so cheap and to be honest I really like the leather interiors. The cash I end up with spare will make the next year so much easier as I won't have to live like scrooge to be able to afford the trip.

Yeah, I'm having a browse at reviews now and did notice that. I've spotted a few very tempting ones for very good prices. I can't believe they're so cheap really.

By the way, your car is looking fantastic mate. I washed mine earlier and it looks nice out on the drive but needs must

Don't do it.. Lol.

It's upto you mate, because travelling is a big thing to look back and say you've done.

Tbh I'd look away from an rx8 tho. Nice fast car but 20mpg, expensive servicing and parts would put me off. Be careful if going JAP that's my advice.

But do what makes you happy dude.

Ok mate, thanks for the heads up. Just one of the options really, unfortunately most have been jap  shall do a lot of research before taking the plunge though.

I don't want to get rid, I love the LCR and it's a fantastic looking car but now I've got an excuse to piss off out of the country for a few months and have a bloody good time, and I don't think I can let that opportunity slip.

Feel a bit stupid getting rid so early but I've done a few things to it and really enjoyed it, so hopefully if I sell up it will end up with someone who will take care of it.

Couldn't agree more going on the getting out of this country for a few months. I'd jump at the chance.

I'd get a cheap runaround and when your back from travelling and working again get another Cupra maybe. I'm on my 2nd LCR. Really missed the 1st when it sold but a year and a half later I had another and it was standard. Now look at it! Lol. Things change mate but if your only going to have the chance once maybe in your life I'd take it for sure.

I can definitely see myself owning another one Tom, without a doubt. It's an addictive car to drive for sure and they look amazing. Think I'd go for another platinum grey as well. The new cupras don't look anywhere near as good ;)

It's all pretty sudden, I just mentioned it to my 2 closest mates the other night at the pub 'fancy pissing off round europe in a van next summer?' and now it's booked in the diaries and we're starting to save etc. Not going to let it slip. A few months of no stress and responsibility is well needed and something to look forward to.

Ok I've made the ad on here and am waiting for Mods to approve - as soon as they do I'll post the link...
gut wrenching stuff, lol.

Thanks dude. :)

Good luck with the sale!

Good luck with the sale mate and the next ride you decide on. Personally wouldn't go for the RX8. My friend is a Mazda master mechanic and he tells me how much TLC they need on a day to day basis and how parts are expensive because no one knows how to work on them apart from them. If there is any detail you want on the car let me know and I can get them for you!!

Thanks EL.

Hard to make my mind up, they look very nice and interiors are sweet but again there's the issues you speak of. I want something nice inside as I'm going to be driving longer distances and the car needs to look smart as well, kind of got my expectations up after seeing all these mazdas. Anyway, I may end up getting something else.

Sold

Back to driving my sisters old rover 25 for a couple of days until I get a diff car. Going to see a couple this afternoon. My god the rover is slow  Definitely will miss the LCR, and can see myself buying another one in 2-3 years when I really have the funds to make something good of it. It's going to a good owner who seems to know his stuff, he wants to do some crazy audio stuff inside too. Maybe you'll even see him on here, who knows.

Thanks for all the help I got on here too, much appreciated.

Hope you got what you wanted mate and get a new readers ride up with whatever you get!

Sad to see it go mate but hopefully see you back with a Cupra again sometime soon. Enjoy the travelling matey!!!
