I don't even own a Ibiza, but to be fair I think they are one of the most,if not the most, underrated car in its category.

And they look good too, not childish like the Fiesta ST, or OTT retro like the mini cooper. Just aggressive and smooth.

Same at my dealer, they had none in stock there and they had to order new for me!

I never saw any when I was in yesterday sealing the deal for my pre-facelift pre-reg FR either. Apart from the demonstrator that is. Had a wee shot in that. Loved it. :D

I noticed the other day that Topgear had the Ibiza in the uncool list??!

Sorry for backtracking a little here, but I think they're right. I mean, how mank Ibiza FRs do I see each day? One, mine. How many Skoda vRS? Four or five.

The Skud looks more popular to me.

I know popular doesn't always mean cool, but I think Seat are the poor relative at VAG and have been for a bit.

Have to agree the latest SEAT offerings are shocking in terms of styling, new toledo and leon :wtf: and after a few of the posts around here not so relaible, although people dont complain when it working fine.

SEAT really do seem to have lost the advantage that they had in the 90's of selling VW's with a youthful image at rock bottom prices. The bargain factors faded now and i think only £500 separates the base model Ibiza and Polo's which isnt a huge saving given questionable SEAT styling and the cheap interior particularly of the MK4 Ibiza.

The problem is that VW have realised the Cupra's were outselling the GTi's etc and have differentiated SEAT with this new wierd and wonderful (sorry questionable) styling and at the same time have taken some of the quality out to make the VW's look better.

Therefore, theyre uncool

The Leon looks too people carriery now.

I think the Ibiza looks cool, even though the interior on the mk4 is a bit dull. Its mechanically sound and good to drive though.

I think the Skoda is the budget brand, the SEAT is the budget sport brand and the VW is the quality brand where as Audi is the premium brand with a sporty focus. Just my interpretation of how they have set it up.

IMO the bigest problem with the FR is that nasty "platinum" splash of plastic on the dash. That and they are so anoyingly common round here now. I normaly see about 4 or 5 a day most in black (normaly I see 2, 3 doors in black a 5 door in black and a 3 door in light blue (the wing mirrors look realy naff on that paint)). I hope there isn't a new Ibiza based on the new Golf/A3/Leon platform as that's just going to be too big for the market it's aimed at.

Nowhere Important
Where I stay, there are a lot of Seat Ibizas, but only one Fr, which is mine.

Theres one new Ibiza sport (which doesn't look that nice as wheels look too small) and a few Stylances.

I've still to see another FR locally. I see a few base models and a Cupra on the way to and from work, but never an FR. I like the fact that you don't see too many Ibizas on the road. Makes it that bit more special, compared to the likes of Clios and 206s which are everywhere you turn.

Think it depends on where you live, i live in a village a few miles out of a town and there are LOADS of mk4 ibiza's there two within 5 houses of me and they are all around the town. I see a couple of FR's on a daily basis and the odd cupra too.
