sweet you may have changed my mind. you reckon if they cut the axial pipe from the centre box too short thats what might make it rattle or will it rattle anyway

In all honesty i haven't noticed it rattle. But then i have my music turned up so that may be why. The only problem i had was when the rubber bracket mounting thing cracked and therefore had a bad vibration/rattle. Other than that cant complain.

Im not too sure about the fitting to be honest. I had a mechanic sort it so dont know. Sorry.

the sound off a magnex is brilliant, nice low and burbly mmm :) thumbs up from me 2

lived a few placed aqueduct, trench, ketley grange, used to love spinning round iron bridge in summer - mint init!!:D

also played footy for the robin for a short time think they play for another pub now cant remember the name

you will get rattle with any exhaust if its not fitted properly and even thou it sounds easy fitting an exhaust so it doesn't fowl anywhere is a right pain in the bollock.

If you look underneath your car you will see two brackets one either side of the CAT. With mine the magnex pipe diameter is slightly larger than standard so these brackets were the main point of contact giving the exhaust something solid enough to vibrate against. I literally took the rear one off as the pipe has a support hanger right next to it and it seemed solid enough without it.

The biggest bitch is making sure it does not hit your rear beam or that will make some lovely noises.. best thing is just to take your time and find someone with a set of ramps...

sod doing this on your drive unless you have a liking for spending lots of time in small confined spaces :)

mine was really bad when i first got it fitted, so bad i thgought my whole exhaust system was going to blow up. but i took it back to the garage and they sorted it out properly! the worst it does now is rattle a little bit under the handbrake when the revs drop down to 500rpm! which is only due to my filthy throttle body. mines just the backbox, and although it's big, they make a great sound, and mines just started to pop and rumble when engine breaking which is wicked!
at the moment the back box is sitting slightly lower as the rubber that holds the hanger up has split. so gotta shove that back up again and then it'll be all sorted. but overall nice sound, good make, and pops when revving! :D

not that theres any about anyway but the mk3 20vt system is a nice mk2 mod too

for those after subtle warbles :)

Which backbox is recommended for the 1.4? Mine's a 95 :)

Supposedly one of my brother's friends would be able to do the welding but he's no exhaust expert! (He fixes tractors for a living) how much do you think a garage would charge for fitting?
