trouble with my radio...

Hope someone can help me...My radio keeps tourning on ... by himself. I don't know what 2 do. The radio its incorporated along with clima... SEAT Cordoba 2001

This is a common problem with the Mk3 Ibiza/Cordoba dealers normally just put a new one in so you might be best off trying to source a second hand radio.

quick/cheap fix is to put a cassette tape into it..... worked on my dad's Ibiza

you'll probably find that the external temperature reading isn't working also.....

You're a genius!! Yes, the external temperature reading is not working. Do you know what the problem is? About cassette tape it's working but...still i am afraid it will go on like the radio. Can I turn it of...like a plug/unplug switch...

I don't actually know what the cause of the problem is, something to do with the stereo/climate unit behind the dash.

If you insert a cassette tape into it and then switch the unit to radio, you should find that it operates normally... i.e. with the ignition, and it won't turn itself on randonly!

My dad's used to turn itself on even when the car was locked and on his drive at home !!!

Yea, mine does that too. Seems to work until now with the cassette scheme. Hope it works! I took the car to a service(SEAT auto service). They didn't know what the problem is...
