There's a few K1s running 320bhp+ on piston heads for around the £12k mark which is very reasonable. That's what I'm looking to pay anyways.

Spot on
The premium price on a Cupra K1 is totally unfounded. Add the aero bumpers, skirts, spoiler, badge and vxr exhaust to a Cupra and you have a Cupra K1. The V5 even says the same thing as the Cupra K1 was converted at the port of entry when it came to the UK. The only way to tell it apart is to call SEAT
Seems silly that people are willing to buy and sell a 2008/2009 Cupra K1 for the same money as a 2010 Cupra with warranty and most of the issues of the Pre Facelift addressed.
Thread on here says otherwise Irfan. Let me see if I can find it.

Not true mate, a K1 is registered as a K1 on the data base. When insuring a real K1 it comes up as a K1 but if you put all the extras of a K1 on a Cupra you will have to declare them as it will come up as a Cupra on the data base.
So worth considering this as insurance will probly be more on a wanabe K1.
Its easy to see which is a genuine SEAT UK Cupra K1 that had its bumpers, skirts, exhaust and badge fitted at the UK port of entry........................................ the bumpers, skirts and exhausts aren't fitted or painted as well as the ones done by good bodyshops as aftermarket fit!!!!!!!!!
Without exception, we had to correct the fit and respray at least part of every K1 bodykit, and re-align the exhaust, on every new K1 we supplied.
if that was the case this wouldn't happen

What are you using to get that info?
Just a question to test the water about your car sales knowledge , of I turned up in said K1 and said wanna part ex would you run the check or would you take face value it was a k1?
Because from looks you can't tell
And if your check came back as a Cupra would you offer less money ? Even though they are Infact the same car just not bolted on at the port.
Lol lol
At least yours ain't a diesel![]()
Big time mate! It is funny tho as I've even had someone pull into a petrol station behind me and say 'that thing is ***king rapid for a diesel!' Just goes to show how many diesels there are with K1 ASBO kits on them!
