Afternoon all,

Ive started to get little puffs of blue smoke from my LCR exhaust on start up. Now im not sure if its the seals on the turbo or the ex-valves. I think more likely to be turbo seals as I dont get a puff of smoke if I back off in 3rd and then accelerate hard.

Now I dont mind getting my hands dirty, but I guess to replace the turbo seals isn't something I want to be trying on my own on the driveway and the same goes for the ex valves if needed?

I get smoke now and again..
Only when pulling away at juctions..nothing else.
Stem seals will leak when its been stood still..
Been like it for a couple months..
I suspected it to be the turbo..done 100k...
And now its leaking oil under/around the turbo..so is deffo the turbo.

The turbo on mine hasn't covered 80k yet, Guessing ive got a few busy evenings stripping down parts to check them over. Great fun!

Turbo seals are specialist job. Allow around £240 for a rebuild. Turbo developments will sort you out if needed :)

Im getting to the stage where I might just try and sell the damn thing. List of things needed so far N/S/F wheel bearing, Number 2 injector leaking (could just be O-ring), Two rear tyres needed, front brake discs and pads needed and last night the service due light came on.:censored:

Buy the parts cheap on eBay or other sites mate. They are relatively cheap jobs compared to others. I have spent over 2 grand on the car since I bought it 10 months ago for 2500 quid! My seals are leaking and when i start it up after 5 min it will smoke heavily for about 2 min then when I have driven for a bit it only comes back now and again when stopped! Getting them sorted next month with mot , service and tax! A good 600 quid right there!

Most of that's wear and tear. Unless your buying a new car you can expect the same.

+1

Most of those don't just go u must of knew the tyres and discs/pads were on there way out and saved some cash!

Tyres and brakes I was prepared for, but the blue smoke, wheel bearing, and ball joint that I've just replaced I wasnt expecting. One of those things I guess.
