i know this sounds stupid but has people definatly fitted it the correct way as this fits differently to the other valves. the horn should be facing upwards and the vacum should be on the right of the valve. i tried it both ways it dumps loads better when its fitted the correct way. i had a cd with mine put it on the pc and it should the fitting a different way to what my forge 007p was fitted.
just seems really weird how its fine on some engines. mines the BAM engine.
its crazy wierd you think it wouldnt be different. but saying that though when i had my remap done it seemed a lot quicker and crazy torque it use to spin up easily. this was with a recric dv and just a panel filter. now with a different dv and a bmc cda kit feels slower and doesnt spin up. i dont know if its because ive got use to it but i think it might put it back to standard see how it feels then. a lot of the time i think its in peoples head. but when i had it tested on the rolling road with a 007p dv and a panel filter it onyl come out at 240bhp they said it probably too much hot air going in as the cold sides intercoolers are blocked. i thought Balloni! as loads of people are running 260bhp with these still there.
i havent change the type of fuel or anything i dont get it. i just put it down to getting use to it.
robDon is correct. the vacum hole should be pointing towards your airbox way. towards the wing. the horn should be facing upwards towards the bonnet. i did this to try and the noise wasnt great and didnt release too good. yall soon notice the difference when you put it the proper way round.
not sure this is just what the instructions said on the disc. sound wise you will notice a difference. unless you have a different valve.
mine looks like this from the top
Well I've just mounted mine (yep it's the same) like that, and I have noticed improved throttle response and general smooth acceleration! But it is quieter! So I've just turned it soft a few notches.
yeah i found that mine let off too early with it softer so i turned it harder.
they said in the instructions to put it fully loose and it will stall or try too then turn it until the revs settle at normal rate, they said to also check if it falls properly when you change gear and rev it.
Agreed, I set it too far soft and it started to idle funny. A couple of turns to the hard side and it's idling fine
Weird though, because it still seems quieter than the other way round! But throttle response is the most important thing to me. I'm obviously not running near the same boost you are so I'm sure it will be nicely loud with a remap I've got planned
ok based on the comments above the dv should be fitted with horn pointing up? surely this means the air is being forced back into the tip which isnt supposed to happen is it?. I thought it should be set up the same as the standard dv which is recirculating into the charge pipe
my fuel is fine on this u find u accel harder to hear the noise.
the piston open up and down the vacum lets it open and close. if you look at the valves from the inside you will see they are different .
ive got my boost gauge pipe teed into the vac pipe off the dv does anyone know if this will the make dv not work properly because the vac is sucking the boost gauge as well as the piston ?????
