Does anyone know how I can lock my car without the interior movement/ultrasonics being active ??

On my old Exeo I could press a button on the driver door storage bin to turn it off but not sure how to do it on my mk3 Leon or if it's possible

Press key fob once to lock and immediately press and hold for 2 secs.

This should deactivate the interior alarm sensor (and the anti-tow/tilt sensing iirc). The alarm will return to normal monitoring the next time the car is locked.

Edit: Mine requires the long 2nd push, try the suggestion above as well and see which works for you. Whichever works, it's very easy and hopefully answers your Q.

It's on the small button a few cm's down from the seat belt height adjuster. Oh wait….

Thanks for the replies. If it's done by pressing the lock button twice does that mean that when I press and hold the button to fold the mirrors its also turning off the interior alarm ??

Will have a try at the weekend and work it out

Good point about the mirrors. I do the same to retract the mirrors but never realised I'd be disabling the internal sensors. Great design! I hope there are no opportunist car theives reading this.

Q1) If you press and hold the button to fold the mirrors, how many times have you pressed the button?

Q2) How many times do you need to press the button to disable the alarm?

Q3) Do you think pressing and holding the button to fold the mirrors, then pressing it again afterwards would disable the alarm?

Q4) Am I a sarcastic t**t?

Answers on a postcard to..........

:) some good comments Biker

I tend to press lock once then press and hold again to fold mirrors, so my query is have I inadvertently been disabling the interior scanning.

I guess from your comment that I can just press and hold to lock and fold mirrors without disabling interior alarm. I didnt know that was the case, I've always pressed once then press and hold to fold mirrors

As for Q4 , you are sarcastic but I can see why, my post didnt really make sense :D

That is a good point mate, in that instance you probably have disabled the alarm.

You can just press the button to lock the car and keep it pressed, this will fold the mirrors.

you will have missed it due to the low level washer fluid light distracting you...... No......ah

Posts not making sense will fit in well here, any sense made is normally by accident.....

I actually have a warning for the washer fluid [B)] Sure it's a Winter pack option like the Octavia and Golf.

The golf GTD I had didn't have winter pack but had low washer fluid warning. I reckon they fit the low washer fluid light when headlight washers are installed?

It is a handy feature that imo should be standard as it's not easy to check washer fluid level manually.

I thought the Winter pack was headlight washers and heated jets?

The headlight washers use 5hit loads of washer fluid. Changed them via VCDS to only squirt when I've held the windscreen washer jets on for 2 seconds.

My previous golf had headlight washers as it had xenon lights (but no winter pack) so I think that's why it had the low fluid warning. I had a Ibiza with winter pack and that had headlight washers and the heated jets but no low fluid level warning
