ok, i understand that with the cupra its easier to get a twin pass fmic with inlets and outlets on the same side, however will this lack performance in comparison to an fmic with inlets and outlets either side?

Well mines done with a normal cooler with an outlet either side and uses 2.5" pipe through out.
A twinpass will use the restrictive standard pipework from the turbo but will be easier to fit.

yea i know, its just i can either fit the ebay kit for 250 with ports either side. Or for 100 quid get a twin pass the same size as forges intercooler. Will i really notice difference and is this worth doing before my remap?

I suggest doing a search or reading up on what an FMIC does and how it improves performance....
