You fully ignore the fact I agree with you..? Fair enough..

No I fully ignore the fact that you feel I should create a new post.

This one has been a blast, it's not often you get called "Haters" when all your trying to do is help, but there you go that's what you get for trying to help.

As for saying you don't owe an apology to Rob as it was such a small thing, well if it was that small a thing then a big man such as yourself would surely have no issue with apologising.

I wish you the best and a happy new year.

Steve :D

Theres always gonna be issues with engines of any brand but when you find a thread saying the manufacturer could bin the engine because of problems then it kind of stands out from the regular problems dont you think ????

Ey up Rob. I wouldn,t have got my Polo if i thought there was a problem with this engine, as i have been known to like to tinker with my cars.

whats the first mod then blade? are the Polo forums any good for info? which one do you use?

I,m just in the process of educating myself re mods. No one knows much on the Polo itself as they are so new. I think i will lower it a touch and get some lighter wheels to start with.

Yeh i know you like to tinker  and i never even considered this engine until you poped up out the blue with the Polo and vRSy told me someone did a 13.4 on the 1/4mile with just a map on this forum so thought id pop over for a ganda and see whats what ;).

14.08 1/4 mile standard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ub2oQZBT1A
13.4 sec 1/4 mile same car stage 1 220Hp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG_zSODOU7A&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

same car on track, goes to show power to weight is everything IMO

Not bad for the mods either exhaust, panel filter (which we both know are sh!te) and triple 8s, ligtweight wheels and front seats and no back seats.

Lets see what other mods develope on this platform now the skoda and vw varients have arrived, should get interesting.

Yeah should go well with a miltec and ITG induction kit. Mine did a 13.9 with stage one but I should have been manually changing higher up the rev range, (3 gear on). Still did a 5.1 to 60 though :D

I read somewhere that fitting lightweight alloys can really improve things as the engine has less work to do.

Is there a miltek and and ITG available yet just been looking on awesomes website and there aint a right lot going on.

Yep lightweight wheels are a good mod, reducing unsprung weight is all good.

Miltek is on the way. ITG is out as is a Forge Twintercooler and Induction kit and a nice looking scorpion exhaust.

Milltek should be any day now. They told me end of December when I spoke with them. think I will follow up today.

Good work Jc!

Whats the best way to launch? On that video it says he used +/-, surely if your sitting at the line in that it will creep forward? Foot on the brake then when it goes green move foot and put it down? Use the handbrake?

Yeah, unfortunately with hill hold you lose about a split second or so but foot on brake and when the light changes, hammer it hahahahahahahahha. ESP off aparently is better too and manual shifting gives a slightly better advantage although you may wanna let it auto shift from first to second. I have always found a small lag when manually changing from first to second and the rest are much better.
