just bought a seat exeo 2.0 sport tdi had it about a week when the tmps system alert went off.Checked tyre pressures and reset all ok for about another week then it came back on 3 days in a row.Took the car to seat who say i have different make tyres so need to buy a whole new set of tyres of the same make as the speed ratings are different?
.Im currently checking this with seat uk and getting a second opinion from another seat dealer.
any ideas? looks like i may have to fork out for new tyres ill keep u posted.
It's nothing at all to do with the tyres - there is a fix available from SEAT UK - it's a known fault!

The system is very primitive indeed and looks only for variation in wheel speeds - there is no pressure sensors as such.

All the dealer is doing is following the reset - they need to get the new software version from SEAT UK - they tried that on mine and it's never gone off in almost 10 months/12,00 miles.

Tell them they need to get flash update (SVM30A8).

Strange day with the Exeo today. Didn't use it yesterday, but this morning when I started it up in poor light, the auto headlights came on, along with the dash warning that a rear number plate bulb had failed. It had too. But tonight when I started the car up, the bulb was perfectly OK. This has happened before when the car has stood for a while - bulb doesn't work, then comes back to life later. Also, did a couple of short stop/start trips of no more than two miles each before driving off to work (about 20 miles) and the car wouldn't do more than 42mpg, despite it being mostly 60mph on the motorway. It normally does about 50mpg. Then, returning from work tonight, all was well again and it gave 53mpg! Weird. Could this be something to do with the DPF regeneration mode mentioned elsewhere?

quick update just been to another seat dealer today and guess what??? front right tyre had a slow puncture.Funny how the previous seat dealer plus the local tyre fitters never picked this up.
I was advised that the different makes of tyres also mixed tread depths between tyres didnt help with the tpms kicking in.So fingers crossed i hope this has resolved the situation.
Thanks Arnold clark at alexandria parade glasgow.

I am having the same problem. Have taken it to my dealer and told them about the software update but they don't believe me and say there is no update. ...so what do I do? I have sent seat uk a message and waiting for their reply

Hi guys, Gary here. I'm new to the forum. I have a set of 19" aftermarket rims on my car (2009 exeo tdi 170) and the tpms cones on after about 10 miles. I've discovered via a Vag com that the wheels are too big for the sensors to pick up. What I can't figure out is how to disable the tpms system via the vag com.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Gary.

Set to 35 front and 32 back. Also tried 32 front and 32 back. I'm thinking there might not be sensors in the tires.....but then I'm thinking....I had a puncture last week and it picked it up and told me what wheel.....now it just pops up tpms but not telling me a wheel in particular. All tires are fine and holding the pressure as I've checked every day for the last week.

I rang a seat dealer and they reckon it needs recalibrated as the car might still thinks it has 17 inch wheels on it.

I think I know how to disable it but it involves removing the fuse. Can anyone tell me if the fuse for the tpms is a solo acting fuse or does it control a number of things??

Update

With my exeo using indirect tpms it's only set up for 16,17 and 18 inch wheels. Disabling it through vag com isn't the easiest of tasks. We have spent 3 hours total now trying it. Does no the exact gateway and codes needed to disable the tpms on a seat exeo????
