Just had a quote from listers on a 25k 184 fr. With a £500 deposit they wanted 488 pm woth 8k mileage on pcp over 48 months
7500 gfv.
I worked out that in 42 months 0% Apr I can get a brand new one for around 440 and thats with a price of 31k after discounts.
I calculated that with a gfv of around 12500.
Does that sound realistic or less then that?

Quick question, how old is the car and its mileage?

Drive the Deal has a new 184 FR with Tech pack for £19,500 without any options...

That's an awful deal. Brand new fr184 with no options is 23.5k, 500 deposit with 42 month 8k a year you'd be looking at 320 per month and final payment of about 10k.

If you're sure you're not going to want/need to chuck the car mid-deal, leasing is the way forward. Seat don't publicise it but their own deals are pretty competitive.

I know I'm repeating myself, but have a look at leasing. You could have a brand new one with that spec for less than 300 per month and less than 900 deposit.

I'd laugh in their face and tell them to jog on if I were you!

As for leasing it's going to be a joint car and mainly tge Mrs and tbh she's wrecked the wheels and other bits on all my cars so I don't think leasing is a good idea. With the cost of repairs it would be cheaper buying it outright lol

That deal they have given you is a complete piss take, you can do a lot better than that. Lease deals direct with seat are very good. Of course, leasing doesn't give much flexibility. You could get a much better pcp deal through car wow, drivethedeal etc than you have been quoted. Get a quote off one of these guys, show it to listers and watch them squirm. Shop around but if going through a broker, don't give them a deposit unless it's going direct to dealer sourced car.

For comparison, I'm getting a Cupra 290 over 36 months for 370 per month inc vat with a few options, 1150 down, with 20k mileage allowance on a personal lease. Direct through seat as they had the best deal. I did the maths and this made better sense than cash purchase or pcp deals or approved used.

Good luck and hope you find the car you want fella

Oh and by the way if you're after a diesel, then look at bmw 125d deals. 224 bhp and quicker than the fr184, but you have to be able to live with the marmite design of the 1 series. This is what I have at the mo and it's a cracking car and there are some very good deals on them at the mo. Just fed up of diesel and want to get back into a petrol engine personally. And if you're looking at low miles per annum, maybe a petrol would be better, unless you are a lover of the diesel low down torque

Listers managed to get me a really good deal on mine compared to Perry's and Lancaster. The guys at Perry's thought I was having them on when I told them to match Listers quote. Shame they're not all like that.
